Alan Richard Vint

Died of pneumonia and multiple organ failure after a series of prolonged illnesses, including rheumatoid arthritis.

After a stint as head of development for Robert Urich Prods., Vint moved to writing, teaching and directing. He directed the feature film Reversal (2001) starring daughter Kelly.

Dark, good-looking, insouciant American "tough guy" actor from film and TV who toyed briefly with stardom in the early 1970s after starring with brother Jesse in the unexpectedly successful box-office hit Macon County Line (1974). Moved quickly into character parts as both good ol' boys and villains.

Brother of Jesse Vint. Father of actress Kelly Vint Castro. Uncle of Jesse Vint IV. Cousin of Bill Vint. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Alan joined the Actor's Studio with Jesse Vint and Bill Vint while he was still an engineering student at the University of Arizona.

Served on the board of directors as one of the founders of the Equity-waiver MET Theater in Los Angeles. He wrote, directed and starred in several plays.
