Superman is rather EASY to get right (even with the many interpretations and adaptations over the years). A goody and protective Superman = Good! The difficulty is finding what to do with him for a movie-lenght plot that is entertaining. This one feels overstuffed and would benefit from being streamlined. But miraculously, the pacing isn't that bad! It is entertaining and somewhat fun. It doesn't feel very cinematic, though.. the content and characters feel more TV.
It is a hard movie to review, because compared to the previous entry, it is an improvement without a doubt! But I also don't feel satisfied. From lack of character depth and growth to "ruining characters" for a joke or a plot choice.
Liked Lois's strong interview moment, but doesn't contribute to the movie's uneven and fragmented tone. And Mr. Terrific ended up being my favorite part and much better written/acted than expected. Lex Luthor is much better but too much of a caricature (that tone again), surrounded by bimbo girlfriends and star-struck interns.
Everything it does I've seen done in some form.. but it is not at all soulless! It also might take some parts too far and becomes too weird, but it is not a total loss.. even if you can see gunn needing to hit you over the head with the forced sentimental stick of his.

A story of a Detective fighting a losing battle against the never-ending injustice of evil, putting his loved ones at risk for the greater good.
I'd say.. this is the sort of script no one would even dare pitch nowadays. With a memorable, an unexpected ending and resolution, and an "ambiguous message" for the audience to ponder about. It really goes places, pushing the limits of what a good person would do in such a scenario. It is also not overly religious, which I appreciate, and pits a man against something he can confront.
Great casting, good pacing, decent cinematography. It is a bit too straightforward and it is hard to recommend without covering what happens in it in more detail.

Humanity finally made Robot "Household Appliances" around the year 2000, but.. unexpectedly, Andrew* seems to be much more. What follows is the story of how this Andrew develops a very human-like AI and fight to be recognized as such.
Can't ask for a better leading casting than Robin Williams and Embeth Davidtz, in what is an interesting romance centered around sci-fi evolution. One that started by unknown means! Much like it is happening now with large language models, where the exact reasoning behind specific outputs (complex, creative, or flawed ones) is difficult or impossible to trace precisely.. even if it doesn't experience identity and only generate responses, so far.
The film is good, funny, entertaining, interesting and memorable! The parts where a robot kicks everyone into a future of androids and techno-biological organs is something I will always remember.
It is well cast and charmingly acted. Can't ask for anything more! Except it also functions as a window into what might be coming next, and it will be looked back as such.
