I'll make this short and to the point. The story has been done before. But like most similar stories it's supposed to be a "feel good" movie, and it was. But, many scenes were sloppy, overly staged and forced. The younger actors were not convincing and didn't act well. The older actors, except for the corporate boss, were actually pretty good. The music, my god the music....... It was horrible, repetitive and did not add anything to the story except distraction. It's basically a hallmark movie premiering on a Wednesday at 2:00 pm.
6.2 stars.
This film requires much patience to get through it. Several of the performances are melodramatic and amateurish. I've seen a few of these actors in several movies, and they generally are proficient, but something about the script, and this two bit film comes across as B-rated and low quality. It's unfortunate, because the storyline has potential. But it's so crudely done it feels like so many films of this nature that are directed by someone who has no clue how to make a movie flow. The message is not communicated effectively. This is what happens when someone takes the reins of a movie without the proper guidance. There are so many recognizable actors I'm surprised it's so shoddily done.
I'll admit some parts were nice, but then the non-stop and blaring music was wearing me out. The music coordinator should have been replaced.

William Moseley and Johanna Braddy were terrific together. Lawrence Pressman as well. Really the entire cast was outstanding. The movie was motivational without being corny. It really connected with me. Special mention to James Eckhouse who played the perfect Kevin O'Leary style villain.
Whatever you could call it ("Hallmark type", "old fashioned", "in the spirit of the 70s", "cheesy movie", "sentimental lemonade", etc.), this is really a nice film that evokes positive emotions and, possibly, some tears despite its happy ending. There is no violence here, no sex, no vulgarity, no zombies and no intergalactic wars. P. S. George Steeves is really great in the role of an autistic employee! Watch this movie to feel much better!
It's a feel good movie. The intention was good but as much as it has the same recycled cliche message of the underdog coming up tops eventually or that of the prodigal son returning to save the town, I still hate the need to pencil in the fact that the general acting seemed pretty wooden stiff, abrupt and detached... all puns intended. All in all, a pretty decent 5 stars with a bonus 1 thrown in for the short but certainly not unexpected solo bedroom Royal disrobe of William Moseley to spice up the viewing. Hey, if you got the royal jewels of good looks and a hot bod, flaunt it till you make it. Fair job Will, on the constipated American accent. Lighten up, it sounds more natural if you erase that tension.
