With Three Rings You've Got Ballantine

But this movie doesn't celebrate Ballantine Beer. Instead, it was produced by the Miller Brewing Company to celebrate theit 100th anniversary in Milwukee, with a fanciful story about how Friederich Miller(played by Arthur Franz) left Germany to have the freedom to make beer the right way. It's also about how his grandson, played by Bruce Bennett, stubbornly insists on quality.

Miller is no longer owned by the MIller family; one of their members forced its sale because she disapproved of alcohol. But that wouldn't happen for another dozen years. In 1954, Miller was independent, prosperous, and had Jerry Fairbanks produce this movie for them, with good Hollywood talent: John Brahm directing, and a cast that includes Mae Clarke, Douglas Fowley, and Ludwig Stossell. The color may have daded from the print I saw, but the Miller brewery still turns out a good bottle of suds.
