Kapodistrias was truly a saintly figure in politics, characterized by a spirit of self-sacrifice and selfless contribution to the nation. This film successfully depicts his life, the sheer magnitude of his personality, and his character.

The direction is superb, while the storytelling and music are beautiful. The acting is excellent overall (with the minor exception of two or three supporting roles that felt a bit weaker).

I will just say this: the majority of the audience left the cinema in tears at the end.

The film has faced harsh criticism due to the messages it conveys-specifically its promotion of traditional values and its strong religious references. It presents the model of a righteous politician who sacrifices everything for the common good, which clearly exposes the decline of the current political landscape. I hope more soul-nourishing films like this continue to be made, because the world truly needs them.

Kapodistrias (2025) is not just a historical portrayal it is a long-overdue act of justice to one of the most misunderstood figures in Greek history.

Kapodistrias" is an excellent film. It isn't about judging acting, costumes, or directing. It's about understanding where Greece came from and why so many things still feel unresolved today.

Through the life and struggle of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the movie shows how foreign interests shaped our country and how, in many ways, they continue to influence and govern Greece even now.

It's absolutely worth watching if you want a clearer sense of the burden we still carry as a nation and the unfinished story behind modern Greek history.

One of the best greek movies i've ever seen. It describes well the story of Kapodistrias, the figure who established the Swiss Republic and governed his homeland Greece when it was freed by the ottomans. Anyone who claims the movie is bad is anti greek(communist,anarchist) or they just hate Kapodistrias because their last name is Mavromichalis or something relevant.
