Back to School Mom

I'm a fan of Kimberly Elise's. She always looks sad and wears bad wigs in every roll she plays. This movie had potential but the writers really didn't do a good job of presenting the storyline. Kimberly's character took way too long to reveal who she was and seemed a bit oblivious to the dynamics between men and women with how she was engaging with the young man. They also could have chosen a more youthful person to play her son and her college roommate (because while I do love Loretta Devine, I thought it was a stretch for them to be in college together and the same age). The actor playing the son could have looked a bit more youthful. Overall, the movie really could have been great if the writers had a better vision when writing the plot.

Lastly, the title of the movie didn't fit.

I only joined up IMBD so I can comment on this movie. It is slow, boring....the main character, Mary, badly acts through this snooze fest. Bad writing, acting and would rather poke pins in my eyes & yours, than ever see this again. And to save you the pain.

It is a worthy film of your time and attention. It has a superficial tendency to deliver performances from actors that are great for what the film was intended for. It isnt as deep and thought provoking as Precious, or Romeo & Juliet, but it serves to fill for family home with an interesting turn of events at the moment you tire of waiting for that big reveal and turn around. Take it easy and enjoy the film. My family loved laughing about the secrets and stirring up "what would you do" conversations.
