Normally "Ram" movies will be more realistic way of making and little bit more touch of tragedy in the screenplay. But this one stands out by staying close to reality but with the touch of warm, light-hearted, feel-good tone.
The kid and Siva steals the show. Anjali family is the perfect example for idealistic family, almost dreamlike household
The film is simple at its core, with events that unfold in a way that leans more toward fantasy. It draws us into a world we wish we could live in - and that's where the movie truly succeeds.
The highlight of the movie is "climax end note" and the way the kid tries to stop Siva's smoking.
Definitely worth the watch in theatre, with kids.

Sound plays a major role in this film's emotional impact. Arul Murugan's sound design and M. R. Rajakrishnan's audiography create a world that feels immediate and immersive. From the ambient noises to the intentional silences, everything works to serve the emotional rhythm.
Rajashekaran's color grading, Karthik Kambettan's VFX, Jaikumar Vairavan's stills, and the team behind the film's publicity and creative campaigns - Twenty. One. G (Pravin P. K) and On The House - all contribute to a consistent, aesthetic and emotional identity. The teaser edit by Pradeep E Ragav deserves a mention for setting the tone right from the start.
Credit also goes to producers Ram, V Gunasekaran, V Karupuchaamy, and V Shankar for backing a film that prioritizes artistic integrity over commercial calculation.

It's a great watch simple yet uplifting and thought provoking. Every actor delivers, but the child artist Mithul Ryan absolutely steals the show. Shiva and Grace Antony bring warmth and charm in spades. The little ones are shining in their roles. A refreshing, feel good musical drama that tugs at your heartstrings and leaves you smiling.
"Paranthu Po" by director Ram is a heartwarming musical road movie that beautifully captures the emotional journey of a father and son, played by Shiva and child actor Mithul Ryan. Most of the things showed in the film can be relatable, and few may give you the thought of these are never gonna happen in reality! At the time, the reality hits! Every simple dialogue and actions gives you a sense that's kept inside the jokes or actions! More than anything this is good Emotional and funny film between the relationship of Dad and Son. Departing from Ram's usual intense dramas, the film adopts a lighter, more whimsical tone while still exploring themes like parenthood, financial strain, and human connection with depth and sincerity. Critics praise its warm performances, especially the endearing chemistry between Shiva and Mithul, and the film's feel-good, life-affirming narrative. While some found the musical interludes slightly repetitive or overly sweet, Paranthu Po ultimately shines as a tender, emotionally rich story wrapped in humor, music, and compassion. As Ram says! None of this is a New story!
Ram, the talented craftsman of heartfelt storytelling, takes a refreshing detour from his usual emotionally layered narratives here. Known for his exploration of parent-child dynamics in his previous films, this time he approaches the theme with a much lighter, humorous and endearing tone.
At its core, Paranthu Po is a breezy road trip featuring a delightful duo-a child and his man-child father. The journey they embark upon is filled with whimsical incidents and heartfelt moments, all captured with visual charm and a narrative simplicity that feels both genuine and fresh. There's no room for negativity or antagonistic characters here. The film flows with warmth, positivity, and a sincere attempt to make you smile without being preachy or overly sentimental.
Mithul, the child actor, is the highlight of the movie. He gives a natural and charming performance without being annoying. Shiva and Grace Antony also do a great job with their roles. Anjali and Aju Varghese perform well in their parts too.
One of the standout aspects of Paranthu Po is its musical storytelling approach. While it may take a few minutes to adjust to this rhythm. Once you're in sync, it becomes an enjoyable and immersive experience.
This film is a delightful ride for both parents and children. It truly flies high.
