I saw the film come up on Amazon movies and had a brief look at the reviews here on IMDB. I thought I'd give it a shot seeing as the runtime is just over an hour and the risk of wasting my time was low.
Given the minimal budget this film must have been made on, it's really quite good. A man, Chris, is with his girlfriend and some other friends at a house they have rented for a weekend. At night they see a green light and Chris later goes out on his own to investigate and disappears. The next morning a strange man appears and claims to be Chris. From that point you are left guessing what's going on - alien abduction, or something else?
I thought the script was well thought out. My only criticism is the reason behind the events that take place. I felt this aspect of the plot was very weak. We are also left wondering about the background of the person who instigates the events. A whole lot of backstory is missing, which certainly does not help with explaining the aforementioned reason.
Nevertheless, it held my attention and I didn't feel disappointed by the ending. There are many recent huge Hollywood films I can't say that about.
Summary: It's a green light for this little film.

Not low budget but no budget, this is just pure garbage. Everything about this movie is terrible and I can not advise enough to not watch it.
It's a cruel and horrible torture being subjected to this so called film. There is only so many words that I can use to describe this movie, there isn't much that can really be said besides, horrible, terrible, tortuous and so on and so on.
Do not watch this, run away in the opposite direction instead of wasting you valuable time on this piece of rubbish, steaming pile of warm excrement. Leave it outside in the cold and you will see the stream coming off of it.

I didn't expect much out of this movie, but nothing else looked appealing and at the rate I watch horror movies, to see a new film with any kind of appeal is a win.
This movie starts with the trope of the pals on a trip to unfamiliar territory (their friend's uncle's lush "cabin). Everything from that point forward is refreshingly non-formulaic.
Are the characters amazingly deep and nuanced. Nope. This is a movie that packs a lot of malarkey in a short amount of time (a mere 70 minutes!) in the best ways possible. All the *real* things that happen to the characters are sometimes far-fetched but not utterly unbelievable, while the central premise adds a comedic edge. This movie is a solid choice for when you don't want to turn your psyche inside out, aren't up for a 2-hour gore fest, and want to be entertained by a movie without pretense, that doesn't pretend to be anything but the crazy ride it is!

If you've ever wondered what would happen if a mid-2000s direct-to-DVD sci-fi disaster collided headfirst with a student film from 2002 - but with 2025 cameras and a bold, unapologetic attitude - Abduct: Resurrection is your fever dream come to life
The script feels like it was written in 2004 on a broken Nokia phone during detention. Dialogue swings wildly from Shakespearean monologues to lines like, "You can't uninstall destiny, bro!" delivered with such earnestness that you have to respect it.
The Acting - Hilariously Dumb No one in this cast is going to the Oscars - unless they're working the buffet. But that's the charm. These actors fully commit to their roles, whether it's dramatically screaming "DUDE" in slow motion for a full 37 seconds or the villain turning to "Time to defrag... you."
The Budget - Wait, did they shoot this in a cabana?
The Verdict - A Glorious Mess Abduct: is more than a film - it's an experience. A chaotic love letter to the early 2000s era of "so-bad-it's-good" cinema. It's clumsy, nonsensical, and often laugh-out-loud ridiculous. But it knows exactly what it is: a tongue-in-cheek homage to the days when weird genre mashups and bad acting were worn like a badge of honor.

Of course I had never heard anything about this 2025 movie titled "Abduct", except what the synopsis read, and the fact that it was apparently a horror movie. And given my love of all things horror, and the fact that I enjoy watching any movie that I haven't previously seen before, of course I opted to check out what director Chris Riggi had to offer.
Writers Ken Kirby and Chris Riggi put together a script and storyline that proved interesting. Well, right up to the point where it is revealed what is actually going on; from there, the movie just tumbled downhill fast and it started to make absolutely no sense. I will not spoil anything here, but it felt like a tremendous slap in the face with a cold, dead fish.
Now, "Abduct" is listed as a horror movie, so I was expecting this to be a horror movie. But the fact of the matter was, however, that this movie was merely a thriller.
The acting performances in "Abduct" were actually good. I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, and that actually spoke in favor of the movie, as I enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen.
The movie's cover is insanely low budget and amateurish, and it does absolutely nothing to entice the audience with what the movie is about.
I would not recommend you to spend 70 minutes on watching "Abduct", as it essentially was a rather forgettable movie in the end. And those abysmal last 20-something minutes just made it ridiculous to have sat through 45-odd minutes of actual storytelling and an interesting narrative, only to have the writers do a 180 and pull one over your head.
My rating of director Chris Riggi's 2025 movie "Abduct" lands on a three out of ten stars. The movie was quite good up until about the last 20-something minutes of the movie, and there everything just fell apart.
