I find it very odd to see the large amount of 1-stars on this. If I were to hazard a guess I'd say they must be from those "R" words he was talking about during the special because it was genuinely funny and at worst a 4/10 even if you didn't like the jokes. Anything beyond that and you're just getting upset he's calling you out.

I've already watched Panicked twice! I started watching Marc perform in the 80's in San Francisco and as cheesy as this is to say, Marc is like fine wine and his comedic timing and insights have gotten even better with age! Loved it!
My daughter who sadly doesn't laugh much watched the show with me the second time around and she laughed hard so many times, it was like a gift. Made me love the special even more!!!

This one had me rolling...
Marc has gotten funnier and funnier - love that this still shows several deep philosophical moments and hilarious visualizations. The cat and mouse parts nearly killed me - I was eating dinner while I watched it and nearly choked on my food from laughing out loud. Great special. Loved it. Very happy I tuned in.

I've been following Marin since the beginning and I watched every one of his specials and also saw him in concert a couple years ago.
In the past most of his routine has been very tragic stories of death and family and mental health and being Jewish. He was still funny but I think you had to be a certain age to get most of his jokes.
And panicked, Marin takes a break from his long detailed narratives and tells joke after joke after joke - 95% of which stick yhir landing.
And maybe just me but I see more of a shorter joke comic influence in this special and I have in his previous work.
Absolutely hilarious!

Marc Maron: Panicked (2025) finds Maron in fiercely sharp form-restless on stage, brisk in pacing, and unusually energized. He frames the year's cultural noise through a lens of anxiety and irony, pressing on contradictions without turning didactic. The comedy lands because it's personal: Maron's blend of vulnerability and prickly wit keeps the material humane even when the topics brush against uncomfortable truths.
Stylistically, he's more kinetic than in earlier specials, moving through ideas with fewer pauses yet maintaining a coherent thread. The observational bits about everyday frustrations are delivered with the kind of detail that makes the mundane feel alive, and his storytelling instincts smooth the jumps between themes so the hour feels cohesive rather than scattershot.
What stands out most is his ability to balance edge and empathy. Maron navigates heavy territory with craft, letting humor diffuse rather than dismiss. The closing stretch ties disparate elements together with satisfying precision, leaving a sense of completeness without resorting to sentimentality.
Smart, punchy, and personal-Panicked is one of Maron's most engaging hours to date.
