I grew up with platforming video games but over the years the magic seemed to take a backseat to gimmicks and graphics, Rayman Legends embraces what came before it and makes for an almost nostalgic journey.
Though Rayman has been around few a fair while and has had a number of games under his belt I've never enjoyed one. I don't know what it was whether it be the character, the universe or the floaty hands combat but I never appreciated it and subsequently never really gave later titles much of a chance. Thanks to the excellent Raving Rabbids however he stayed on my radar and when Rayman Legends came around I gave it a go.
Reminding me of classic 2D platforming titles the game truly has it all. Vast amounts of content from the levels to the characters to the side objectives, it's a game that should you aim for 100% will keep you occupied for likely months.
Furthermore the difficulty is perfectly balanced, it's accessible yet spikes near the end when you're trying to finish all the additional content.
To top it off the game has an array of musical interlude levels and they are perfectly crafted, catchy, near rhythm game territory and I found them the highlight of all the hours I put into this excellent title.
For fans of old school platform this is essential gaming.
The Good:
Vast amounts of content
Very well balanced
Musical levels
The Bad:
Still not keen on the character
Some frustrating elements

Rayman legends is characteristic of that old-school innocent style a game so simplistic and it just makes you feel happy playing it. Some of the levels are pure insanity and there were countless nooks and crannies to explore I spent so much time trying to 100% this game and I savored every minute of it fantastic energetic music makes gameplay so engaging. The controls are easy to understand and may take a bit of time to get used to but once you do they feel so clean. An amazing game that I feel doesn't get enough love.
The game is very good I've replayed the entire thing a lot it's very fun and challenging at time very good music and details in the backround overall I mostly never like 2d games but this one gives a Diamond cup get it? Anyways every level is so cool and unique funny and cute I take a point off because of the invasion levels I hate them because there is some that are nearly impossible to beat in under 40 seconds it took me almost 200 tries to get under 40 seconds in a quick sand invasion level but I love the game overall very fun bosses and unique game.
Rayman Legends is easily one of the best games to come out of Rayman. It could be my favorite so far since I have never finished the original trilogy. I will admit that it does have some minor issues like the same scenario for each time we get to The Magician. But it can be a really fun game thanks to a lot of improvement to the gameplay. The graphics have a big upgrade as a mix of 2D and 3D. The bosses and chases are really fun. In fact, you can tell the game designers took their time to make this an adventurous platform game. And probably the biggest highlight, the musical levels after you beaten the boss. The game does that by covering rock songs and gives the designers to play around with it for the designers to follow the rhythm. I'd say it's worth playing if you're in to play a platform adventure game. And if you didn't have Rayman Origins, this game has got you covered. You can also be able to unlock these levels from that game. I'll admit, that wouldn't tell everyone what happened in the first game. But thanks to the gameplay improvement, you can still have fun from the ones from Origins. As for this game, it's even better than Origins.
