Every once in a while we get movies like this which has a simple story told in an unique way.. To begin with I didn't know this movie existed.. It was on Aha OTT and wanted to spend some time watching soemthing before going out on a week end..

For the first 20 minutes of the film, I never had a sense of watching a movie.. It wasn't moving anywhere and the over all visuals made me feel like it's a TV serial rather than a movie.. I wanted to switch to something else but still gave it a try.. Surprisingly, when the lead actress herself dies, I wanted to know what's happening..

Oh my.. What an unique way of story telling.. I guessed the reason ,to an extent, for her death at least 50 minutes away but still it was unique.. The climax scene was emotional..

It's a movie with low visuals, CGI which is non-existent, a simple plot, but an unique way of story telling.. If this story was made with some top tier actors and grand visuals, it would surely have been a box office blockbuster..

Its my first review in imdb if ur a comercial movie lover pls dont watch this movie u wont understand the plot . If ur r a ture movie lover jus watch casually u will get to know y iam praising this movie. First i thought its a horror movie with some gosht, sudden horror sounds and showing terror faces but its not . Its a pure gem of movie with one corpse they ploted the whole moive i preferred to watch in ott so that u can understand the story.the girl who died and her corpse unwilling to move from her home until all truth came out evey one in the house committed some crimes finally how her corpse left the home is the climax . Don't miss it.

Emakathagi is a film that takes its time, and that works in its favor. The story unfolds gradually, with the reveal of the protagonist's death handled in a subtle, almost understated way. It doesn't rely on dramatic twists-it lets the emotion build slowly.

The suicide mystery angle is approached with care. By the time the story reaches its climax, it feels genuinely emotional without being overly sentimental. The film uses metaphor and symbolism effectively, without overcomplicating things.

It's not a loud or fast-paced film, but it leaves a mark. The atmosphere, the pacing, and the emotional undercurrent all come together well. I gave it a 10/10 because I appreciate when a film is confident enough to be quiet, and still say something meaningful.

A never touched subject forms the core plot supported by a very gripping screenplay. Director has made a brave attempt in taking the funeral home as the centre stage and creatively added several layers and details to make the movie a compelling watch. It is a shame that this movie was not celebrated in media, critics and general audience. If you are a fan of quality content then this movie will definitely exceed your expectations for a typical supernatural thriller. Village rituals around funeral is so authentic that you will become one of the villagers. Mystery around the reason for the spirits adamancy was unfolded in a novel way and everytime the spirit is shown it stirs you to the core and the facial expressions from the female lead were top notch. Even after the movie ends and credits start rolling, the scene of the spirit levitating in air will haunt us for a long time. Definitely an award worthy acting by lead female artist, impeccable direction and gripping screenplay. Kudos to the entire team and expecting another gem from you soon.

It's rare to see such a multi-layered narrative that doesn't shy away from showing uncomfortable truths - and it does so with honesty and grace.

Unfortunately, I missed the chance to experience it on the big screen, and that's something I truly regret. Films like these deserve to be celebrated in theatres, but even if we miss that opportunity, we must support them on OTT platforms. By doing so, we send a strong message to the industry - that audiences value content with depth, courage, and meaning. Only then can we hope for more such powerful stories to be told.
