"April May 99"
I want to express my sincere appreciation for the recently released Marathi movie April May 99. It brings immense pride and joy to see this beautiful film shot in my very own hometown, Shriwardhan. The stunning visuals captured the essence of our land, culture, and natural beauty so gracefully-it felt like a love letter to our village.
A big salute and heartfelt thanks to the entire production team for their dedication, creativity, and hard work. You have not only made a wonderful film but have also given our small town a moment of glory on the big screen.
What makes us even prouder is that the director and writer of the film hails from our very own Shriwardhan. It's a matter of great honour that one of our own has created such a heartfelt and impactful story. His connection to this land is evident in every frame of the film, and we are incredibly inspired by his journey.
On behalf of all of us from Shriwardhan-thank you and congratulations! We are proud of your achievement and wish the film great success. May this be just the beginning of many more stories that rise from the heart of our soil.

April May 99 is a beautiful slice-of-life Marathi film that transports you straight back to the innocence of the late 90s. The Konkan backdrop, the carefree summer days, and the simple joys of childhood are captured with such authenticity that you can almost feel the sea breeze and taste the ice-golas.
The child actors deliver heartfelt performances, especially Aaryan Menghji, Shreyas Thorat, Manthan Kanekar, and Sajiri Joshi. Their chemistry feels natural and unforced, making you relive your own childhood friendships. Director Rohan Mapuskar deserves praise for his sensitive storytelling-balancing nostalgia, humor, and tender emotions without ever becoming melodramatic.
The cinematography is a delight, using warm tones and natural settings that make every frame look like a postcard from Konkan. The background score is subtle yet effective, enhancing the emotional pull of the story.
Overall, April May 99 is not just a film-it's an experience. It reminds us of a time before mobile phones and social media, when friendship, curiosity, and innocence defined childhood. A must-watch for anyone who wants to smile, remember, and cherish those golden summers.

From start to finish, the film is a beautifully crafted journey filled with heart, soul, and stunning performances. Sajiri Joshi, Aaryan Menghji, Shreyas Thorat, Manthan Kanekar, Rajashree Potdarji, and the entire cast have delivered memorable performances that leave a lasting impression. Each character is distinct and impactful. Hats off to Director Rohan Mapuskar for bringing this brilliant ensemble to life with such finesse.
The film is visually mesmerising, every frame is a piece of art. The cinematography and editing are top-notch, capturing the essence of the story with elegance. A special mention to how Shrivardhan was portrayed, so captivating that I'm already planning a visit!
The music is another gem. The songs linger long after the credits roll, especially "Mann Jaei" sung by the legendary Sonu Nigam ji is truly soul-stirring.
April May 99 made me laugh, cry, and reflect it's a rare cinematic experience that touches the heart through its simplicity and emotional depth. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a film this much.
Highly recommend watching it in theatres to truly feel the magic and scale of the film. Kudos to the entire team!

Cinematography, acting skills, direction, the way Shrivardhan showcased in each frame in this film is simply impressive! Emotions in each scene touches your heart.
Great job from all the team!
People don't leave cinema hall until and unless 99 frames from Jaai finished!
You keep on mumbling songs for few minutes even in the next scene, so music is also good!

Simpler the story more skill is needed to fill it with right scenes and words that lets a theme emerge. Here one is taken to a idealic surrounding of village school, joint family ,coastal culture and agriculture with universal vulnerable sensibility of teenage years.3 friends grown tall but mind heart soul of children are thrown in contrast with a urban girl of same age different perceptions. Scenes float by you as you risk a lapse into your own unique Teen years and a vacation to grandparent or Mama Chya Ghari Jauuu Ya children rhyme .Let us go to Maternal uncle grandparent home by a chook chook gaadi train is the rhyme sung by all born as a marathi.
The time flies and film stops leaving you in mid air for a moment ,then bringing you back to today. To reminisce about your own experiences many years back.
Cinematography is lucky as Geography it has to capture is a known captivation. But responsibility is fully met, justice done .I would watch it again even for that Beauty of konkan .
Faces of teens are natural. Scenes not composed artificially .Elders float into scenes doing the needed supportive role .Teens steal your heart. For a few the film might leave a sense of loss of those years .We need such films .
