Well, I enjoyed it. It felt a bit like the miniseries "Taken" and also somewhat like "The 4400." Did I think it was as wonderful as I thought "Taken" and "The 4400" were? No - but it kept my interest. The acting was competent, the visuals were good, the soundtrack was appropriate and enhanced the mood. Actually, the story isn't a new one. It's an expansion of an old Twilight Zone episode - Drill and all, and, yup, there was a little girl named Minx. I don't remember the name of that episode, but it was a good one. :) I tried looking it up online so I could include a link, but couldn't find it. I'm surprised no one else has noticed this - or maybe I'm just plain old.
The show started innocently, everything seemed normal but then slowly the mystery creeps in and as it does you're getting sucked into the story. The Whispers is definitely not the most original show this year but it is a good one. You sort of know where it goes but you also wanna see how it plays out because the characters are somewhat interesting and the storytelling is satisfying. The history between the Benningans and Lawrences made it a little more interesting because as a viewer you know that it will hinder the progress of the investigation, which is frustrating, but at the same time you know that it's human nature.
The children are the great and I mean the characters as well as the actors. They're innocent and creepy as hell at the same time and not once did they felt like stupid kids for listening to a voice in their head. The Whispers is quite the entertaining show despite using an old formula that we've seen and revisited again and again. I was on a sort of a sugar high as I watched the last seven episodes in one go.

I'm not sure where people are getting Poltergeist meets Close Encounters Of The Third Kind meets Children Of The Corn, clearly they have not actually seen those movies. I was also confused by the complaint too many TV shows are serious, did the commercials for it make it look like it would be a comedy? I like the TV show, it's not the typical show, maybe that's why some don't care for it-some are a bit harsh imo-The point is to not know who is going after the children right off the bat, the point is to wonder who it is, and wait to find out! Lily is fantastic, Abby Ryder Fortson is great, the rest of kids are believable and adorable and I'm glad to have something different to watch this summer :) Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I suggest checking it out for yourself :)
The idea of the show is so new and fresh, the plot is really thrilling , the pilot went sensational on the Mysteries from start to finish ,, you won't stop asking questions, the screenplay appeared strong and tightly written,, the story itself seems to organized they bring you all the crimes and then connecting them all together. Soo Hugh is not new on the Sci-Fi writings he's written some for "Under the Dome" and "The River" but i feel this one is gonna be something different ,, and i mean fantastically different and really intriguing and catchy from the first 5 minutes.
As for the cast, you gotta love Milo Ventimiglia (Peter from Heroes :D) he's so fit for this role here,, Lily Rabe and Barry Sloane are doing a fairly good job so far,, and the little Kids .. bravo ,.
Overall,, ABC has cancelled Forever last month , and i think they're somehow replacing it with this ,, and even though this show is more into seriousness drama and sci-fi ,, i think they will make it work flawlessly with such high ratings. ,, again this network have so much experience for picking up a huge thrilling full of mysteries shows,, so lets hope for the sake of us the audiences that this is one of them ;)
