Morgan: Killer Doll

Now when I first heard about this one that was suppose to be a mockbuster of Megan 2.0, I didn't have much interest on it.

I decided to rent it with my expectations low since this is an Asylum production.

I was definitely surprised at first that it seemed to be similar to their lifetime channel films which I don't mind.

To my disbelief, this turned out to be a nice little surprise and I enjoyed the entire film. Well worth the rental.

The kills were decent enough and not too gory.

The ending twist actually came to be a nice surprise I honestly didn't see coming considering the movie's plot is about a killer lifelike doll.

The storyline surrounding the films events was nicely crafted.

The cast did a good job as well. The character who really stood out was Darcy. She was a such complex character and the actress portrayed it perfectly! She was excellent at portraying a sympathetic character and transitioned into quite the disturbed and devious girl.

Overall I'm glad to admit that this wasn't a total waste of time, I ended up enjoying it!

Stumbling upon the 2025 horror movie "Morgan: Killer Doll" by random chance, of course I opted to watch the movie and give it a fair chance, on account of it being a horror movie that I hadn't already seen, nor actually heard about.

When I saw that it was a movie from The Asylum, I have to admit that my expectations to the movie dropped a notch, as they aren't exactly known for their stellar movies. But I still opted to give writer and director Jose Prendes the benefit of the doubt.

Writer Jose Prendes put together a fair enough script, though it was a bit generic, I will say that much. But that doesn't mean that this was a bad movie, not at all. I found the narrative in the movie to be entertaining, despite it being a bit formulaic.

Of the entire cast ensemble, I was only familiar with Kayla Fields and Michael Paré. The acting performances in the movie were good.

Visually then the movie was okay, nothing outstanding really, but okay.

The movie's cover was actually nicely made, as it was a nice touch in displaying the Darcy character as a doll. I liked that detail of the movie's cover.

For a movie made by The Asylum, then it was actually not a shabby one.

My rating of writer and director Jose Prendes's 2025 movie "Morgan: Killer Doll" lands on a five out of ten stars.

I enjoyed this movie. I found the storyline good and well written. The actors are compelling in their roles with minimal cheese. The action/graphic scenes weren't bad, and it didn't have any "dead" moments. Unexpected twists and turns made for an enjoyable watch. It does have some predictable scenes (as with any teen horror movie), but it moves along rather smoothly. Bix Krieger was exception in her role as Darcy. My first time to see her act and I was impressed. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with this one, and I can see myself watching it from time to time. I do have a fondness for the doll horrors, and I'm glad I found this one.

I love love lesbian plots in movies so much as a lesbian myself. We need more horror movies like this but the plot seriously was amazing! Especially knowing it's a sequel is making me happy. I wish it was a series I would definitely be interested in that for sure. Me and my girlfriend loved it and she is happy about another one as well. You should absolutely keep making movies like this with lesbian plots it was really great and seeing more horror movies with lgbtq members in it makes the community feel more acceptable. It wasn't what I was expecting but I'm glad it wasn't bc it was even better.
