Soothravakyam

This was a decently made, well acted film - that works better as a slice of life than a thriller - the movie is both - first half being more of the former, while second half being more of the later.

I personally would have made it more on slice of life - since it is light and you dont apply too much logic and sequences around it - but as a thriller, there are many logical gaps or open questions, motives, sequential errors or questions that the movie does not answer either very clearly or without ambiguity ( in a slice of life - these are not that glaring and you move on - but in a thriller - these highly reduce the quality of the film)

All in - movie is decent enough for a watch - may not watch it again though.

I found the movie to be utterly boring. You feel zero emotional investment in any of the characters. Malayalam cinema has so many thriller/crime movies that are so good that watching this one is a waste of time.

I wanted to try my best to like it because I like the genre and can leave a movie happy even if it did a moderately decent job. This one was just disappointing.

This film suffers from uneven pacing and a lackluster cast, failing to establish a strong foundation in any of its scenes. The cinematography lacks engagement, missing the opportunity to build a compelling narrative, while the direction feels disconnected from the gritty reality of police life. Overly loud music drowns out dialogues, further weakening the storytelling. The student cast delivers, at best, a mediocre performance, and even the teaching sequences involving Chacko lack depth or impact, with no meaningful learning conveyed. Additionally, the recurring trope of Hindu-centric narratives in recent Malayalam films raises questions about the industry's direction. Overall, the film is a disappointing, poorly crafted effort that fails to leave a mark.
