A Chamada

This movie filled my body with so much adrenaline, I almost decided to sign up for a marathon after watching it, The plot is simple : an agent has to track down a killer from his past, this assassin likes to kill girls, playing a game of cat and mouse with them, he also sends a box to the agent, and gives him clues, so that he can try to catch him, all of this full of great action scenes, with a cool suspense, it has a tribute to the invoking of " Hellraiser ", great locations, full of one liners of the 80's.

i give it a 7, because i think they can do better, still an amazing and fantastic movie, keep them coming...

I believe someone once told me that the film makes killing and violence look appealing. I can't even explain how wrong that is. This truly is an amazing film.

The visual style is amazing. The whole film has sort of a psychedelic visual style, and utilizes constant cuts, and, believe me, it works perfectly. It's a film about pain, violence and giving in to cravings and desires, the killer talks with an alter ego, in the sense of making us think about society and human behaviour, rather than the intensity of a 2 hour bloodbath that we have seen.

The cinematography is superb, shadows, styles create a feeling of disorientation. Bold and brilliant, it´s a cult classic of low budget.

I highly recommend watching this, tipsy, in the darkness and alone.... a that's how I did it. If you watch it with someone, make sure they shut the hell up ! Evil is real!! And the killer in this is so awesome, the writing is fantastic, I loved the story, and how it played out. This franchise is my favorite from Constantino Films, gripping, well acted, exciting, intriguing.

I´m anxious to see the sequel in theathers this summer.

I just re-watched this to get ready for the new one, and I must say, this still holds up extremely well. The music, the opening scene, the bad guys, the shadows with just hints of light make this super creepy. Overall I would definitely recommend this film to any fan of the horror genre. A classic in Portugal.

This movie gives you everything you would want from an action thriller : guns, explosions, cool effects and great suspense. the excellent performances by the cast are also what raise this movie well above your ordinary movie. I love when the good guy tries to reunite all the clues, to catch the killer, and let me tell you, this guy is one sick bastard, and he has a real army from the asylum, to accomplish his goals of vengeance. A little bit of humor, and drama from the victims, that it was also cool.

Rui Constantino delivers a solid film, to my surprise, it was better than i expected, the last 30 minutes were pure gold.

I recommend this film to anyone, who is tired of the same old, Portuguese movies of comedy, drama and sex, maybe this is a new start, who knows.
