This episode was exceptionally well-written, and the way it brings the civilians to life in just one installment is remarkable. It's a fantastic way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of One Piece. This episode encapsulates what One Piece is truly about: the characters represent ordinary people who work for those in power, often getting caught in the crossfire of their battles and being used as weapons themselves.
One Piece is incredible; it reflects real-life struggles through its animated storytelling. Who would have thought that a seemingly insignificant character in the series could experience such profound moments during a war? This episode illustrates the harsh realities of conflict, not just from the perspective of the powerful, but also from those with mere courage to stand up.
This is peak storytelling.

To put it simple; It's a love letter for long time One Piece fans as myself, the Art, direction, story board, writing and animation is beautiful. The brothers' part mirroring Luffy and Ace (somehow) during Marineford was eaasily my favorite. The mood shifting when this came on left me shook to my core. Plus that monologue with it? Perfect!
And seeing Marineford from the perspective of a normal marine/person was genuinely the best part. It really puts you into perspective just how monsterous characters like Mihawk, Crocodile and the main characters are here. Like they're fighting surrounded by ants, these soldiers are fighting just to stay alive while Mihawk and Crocodile are not worried about dying in the slightest.
Master Piece.

This is what One Piece is about. One of the best anime episodes I've ever seen. The animation, direction, the comedy, the transitions, the lightning and the story are a 10/10. The way every Strawhat is shown, the new perspective on the Marineford War, with fodder marines being completely helpless because of how strong everyone is, but getting motivated to keep fighting and do the right thing... thanks to the pirates they are fighting. Such a good way to show how you can't say if the marine or the pirates are the good or the bad guys. And the entire part at the end of the episode made me cry, something that almost never happens to me with fictional stories, but, as a One Piece fan, its impossible to not feel moved by what I've seen in here.
This a love letter to all One Piece fans like me, and an incredible "Goodbye" until the anime returns from its break. 10/10 from beggining to end, Megumi Ishitani is the best director I have ever seen, and this just shows, once again, why the community loves her so much, she's able to show what we love about One Piece with every second of any episode she's in charge of. Thank you, Ishitani. Thank you, One Piece staff. And thank you, Oda, for creating such an incredible world and story!

It is simply great to be able to watch the events from a different perspective than the original work, showing that straw hats have fans everywhere and that they are admired by some people around the world.... I cried a lot when watching and the animation, it's a movie thing! 20 minutes that passed as if it were seconds... Having this view from another perspective brings us the desire to continue seeing everyone's reaction to the other events that happen in the series...my only wish would be for one piece to be known by everyone in the world is a phenomenal anime thank you Magumi Ishitani for doing so much for us that God continues to bless each day more.
Fan letter, more like a love letter to One Piece fans all over the world.
Our beloved director Megumi Ishitani created yet another masterpiece along character designer and animation director Masami Mori with the helps of incredibly talented animators we have come to known over the years. Every department of the production displayed their full potential such as sound direction, composting, storyboarding, even voice acting.
Imagery shown through impeccably creative storyboards with ton of little details like cover story references and power-scaling debates are only testaments to how capable Ishitani is while having a full grasp of One Piece as a whole. Plus, Mori's soft design and lively character acting animation/supervision only complements to such artistic direction.
Storytelling is also masterful in this generational special. Showing the perspectives of relatively ordinary people in this universe which leads to them being inspired by the Strawhats and set sail to their journeys is very touching as we, the viewers feel the same every time we sat on to watch One Piece. We, no matter how unimportant we may seem in the grand scheme of things, can pursue our dreams and achieve many great things in this journey called life.
Let's set sail to the New World and continue to experience amazing adventures. Thank you One Piece...
