Just finished watching Good Wife tamil adaptation of American tv series, and it was a really gripping watch. The suspense and plot twists were the highlight-kept me hooked till the end.
Priyamani was outstanding, easily one of her best performances. Revathi and Arjun brought solid depth to the story too. The background music worked perfectly with the tension, and the outdoor scenes looked great.
The courtroom setup could've been more real, but overall, the show delivered well. Even without watching the original American version, this adaptation stands strong.
All in all, The Good Wife is a tightly written legal drama with standout performances and a gripping plot. I'd give it a solid 5 out of 10 stars-worth watching for the thrill, and especially for Priyamani's powerhouse presence.

I was initially intrigued by the show - the first couple of episodes held some promise. But it quickly went downhill with a dragging narrative and a storyline that lacked any real depth.
None of the characters resonated with me emotionally. The writing failed to give any of them proper development or motivations. One glaring example: why would the wife want to reconcile with a husband who blatantly cheated on her? It made no sense and felt forced, like the show was trying to justify something unjustifiable without building a believable arc.
Gunaseelan, the supposed central character, is a corrupt officer riddled with bribery and infidelity - yet the show expects us to follow his story without giving any reason to care. There was no nuance, no redemption, no emotional investment. Just one-dimensional portrayals throughout.
Worse, the plot is padded with unnecessary side stories that have zero relevance to the main narrative. They don't enhance Gunaseelan's arc, provide context, or develop the themes. It felt like filler, pure and simple.
In the end, the show completely lost its way. A concept with potential turned into a shallow and frustrating watch. Total waste of time.

As a long-time enthusiast of international television, I approached "The Unoriginal" with a mix of curiosity and trepidation. The whispers of its uncanny resemblance to the critically acclaimed American legal drama, "The Masterpiece," had reached me, and I held out a sliver of hope that it might, at the very least, offer a fresh perspective or an interesting cultural adaptation. Alas, my hopes were not only dashed but utterly pulverized.
"The Unoriginal" isn't merely inspired by "The Masterpiece"; it's a near scene-for-scene, dialogue-for-dialogue replica, stripped of the original's nuanced performances, taut pacing, and compelling atmosphere. From the opening shot, it's evident that the creators opted for imitation over innovation, resulting in a product that feels less like an homage and more like a poorly photocopied version of a cherished painting.
The performances, while not entirely devoid of effort, suffer immensely from the constant comparison. Where the original actors brought depth, subtlety, and a lived-in quality to their roles, the cast of "The Unoriginal" often feels like they're merely reciting lines, mimicking gestures without truly understanding the emotional undercurrents. Key dramatic moments, which were gut-wrenching in "The Masterpiece," fall flat here, devoid of the necessary build-up and genuine emotional resonance. It's akin to watching a cover band play a classic song note-for-note, but without the soul that made the original iconic.
Furthermore, the production values, while seemingly adequate on the surface, lack the meticulous attention to detail that elevated "The Masterpiece." The cinematography, set design, and even the musical score feel generic and uninspired, failing to create the immersive world that was so crucial to the original's success. It's as if the creators ticked off a checklist of elements without understanding their collective impact.
Ultimately, "The Unoriginal" serves as a stark reminder that simply copying a successful formula does not guarantee success. Without originality, genuine artistic vision, and a deep understanding of what made the source material great, what you're left with is a hollow imitation. For anyone who has seen "The Masterpiece," "The Unoriginal" is not just disappointing; it's an unnecessary and frankly, a little insulting, viewing experience. Save your time and rewatch the original instead.

I watched the series with no expectations basis comparisons and it turned out to be a very good watch. Contrary to the many negative reviews, I felt the direction of Revathi very good and to the point. There is no melodrama at any point. The reactions to the situations very measured, matured and realistic. If one has to find a flaw, you could say that it's a tad elitist.
Priyamani was outstanding. I liked how every character was projected including the children, mother-in-law and friends.
Sampath Raj, Mekha Rajan, Aari Arjunan, Amrutha Srinivasan played their roles perfectly. What I enjoyed was the unspoken things emanating from each character: Guna - we don't know if he's really guilty; but his behaviour as a normal, suspicious husband; Lavanya as a demanding , sophisticated yet and a bit jealous employer; Tarunika who displayed a calm demeanour and a medley of emotions - I can go on!
Waiting for season 2!

It is cut and paste of goodwife english series and the trial hindi series Priyamani and aari performance was good direction is not up to the mark. Very boring and fast screenplay. And finished series urgent urgently. Priyamani is still fear to do kissing and intimate scenes because her muslim husband. It is the charector she was playing it is nothing wrong doing intimate and kissing scenes in role in when required. And overall revathy is more focused on feminist thoughts and this series is below average series and one time watchable series. Sampath raj and other actors delivered well in series.
