The fact that this was a zombie movie that I hadn't already seen, nor actually heard about, was more than sufficient to make me sit down and watch the movie as I had the opportunity to do so. I am a big fan of all things zombie, so of course I had to see what writer and director Sean King had to bring to the zombie genre.
The storyline was sort of bland. Writer Sean King was sort of aiming at a horror comedy, but the movie had very little of both ingredients, and that didn't make for a particularly entertaining movie. The movie was devoid of laughs and funny moments, and there wasn't really any horror to be found anywhere. Unless you consider a bland script to be horror.
I was not familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. I will say, though, that the acting performances in the movie were fair, despite the fact that the script was bland.
The zombie make-up and special effects were low key and low budget. Sure, it wasn't among the worst of special effects I've seen in a zombie movie, but you're not in for anything extraordinary here.
Sure, "Zombie Repellent" was a watchable movie, but hardly one that warrants more than a single viewing. Is it a movie that I would recommend to fans of the zombie genre? No. Not really. Is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time? No. Not really.
My rating of writer and director Sean King's 2025 movie "Zombie Repellent" lands on a three out of ten stars.
