Betray: Thirst

I have been following Kenon Walker's work for over 20 years. I have just within the last couple of years started following the work of Jaron Lockridge. I have to say this is by far best work on both accounts. From the opening credits till the end, this film is so well written, well acted, the cinematography is on point, and the cast pull it together to draw you in and take you on this emotional roller coaster! I had a fabulous time watching this film and cannot wait to see the next in the series!!! Do yourself and your significant other a favor, enjoy this film May 6! First of all, the acting for mostly unknown actors in this project was extremely impressive. The emotional parts along with the comedic parts made this a very complex watch. This is an issue that happens a lot and as an avid podcast watcher, you hear it in podcasts quite a bit but I've never seen in brought out in a movie. There is no single character you dislike because the writing made you empathize with every character. Since this is a second film in the series, I gotta go back and watch the first movie because this one left me thoroughly impressed. Kudos to the cast and to the production team for a job well done.

Loved this movie! Writer-Director Jaron Lockridge gives us an insightful, touching and sometimes really funny look into the hearts and lives of people just like us in this wonderful installment of the Betray anthology.characters are familiar and new at the same time.

The writing is crisp and edgy. No easy way to put any character in a box. Jaron's script and the actors imbue even his "bad guys" with such humanness you will empathize with them. Especially the character who commits the most heinous act. I especially liked the friendships! Everyone needs one of these BFFs in your life.

I must say that Jaron Lockridge's movies are like fine wine. They keep getting better and better with time. Everything from the casting, score, editing, videography, sound and a whole lot more is top notch and next level. The story kept me engaged the entire time and I kept wanting more and more. I loved how the actors embraced their roles and showed vulnerability in the scenes where they did. In my humble opinion this movie could be on a major platform like BET. The movie had plenty of drama and suspense and even had a few subtle comical moments. I would highly recommend seeing this movie and it gets 10 stars from me. Great job to all involved and I salute.

Top-notch performances. The cast has amazing chemistry. The film is expertly directed with a tight script. The cinematography and sound design are elite. The film is tense when it needs to be and keeps you on the edge of your seat. There are comedic moments that keep things from getting melodramatic. There is not a moment that feels forced in this movie and that is a testament to the amazing actors and deft direction from Lockridge. This is independent film at its best. If this director were given a Hollywood budget his originality would put the stale copy/paste stories they are continually releasing to shame.
