Regardless whether some viewers have the, "been there, done that" attitude. I strongly disagree.
While there may be a many true crime documentaries/series. As well as a few mixed in having to do with being on a cruise ship, or out on the water? There hasn't been one soley dedicated to such. As a viewer, I hadn't seen any, and yes, Captain Lee Rosbach was a draw. So for me, it was a first time watch, and I loved the premise.
Many people love the water, and love anything to do with boating, etc. So I disagree with previous reviews. Personally, I hadn't seen any, so there were no "repeats" for me.
Honestly, Lee Rosbach is a man some of us admire, so with that being said? Anything he signs up for, our family will be waiting to watch. This show was interesting and we loved the different perspective.

Did you expect to suddenly have a whole bunch of water-related murders that had never been covered? That's silly.
Sure, many or all of these murders were covered on other shows. Virtually every Dateline story is also on 48 Hours and vice versa. Welcome to the real world.
I thought the show covered these stories with a different angle and presentation, and I enjoyed seeing a story that was vaguely familiar covered in a new and different way.
ABOUT MY REVIEWS:
I do not include a synopsis of the film/show -- you can get that anywhere and that does not constitute a meaningful review -- but rather my thoughts and feelings on the film that hopefully will be informative to you in deciding whether to invest 90-180 minutes of your life on it.
My scale: 1-5 decreasing degrees of "terrible", with 5 being "mediocre" 6- OK. Generally held my interest OR had reasonable cast and/or cinematography, might watch it again 7 - Good. My default rating for a movie I liked enough to watch again, but didn't rise to the upper echelons 8- Very good. Would watch again and recommend to others 9- Outstanding. Would watch over and over; top 10% of my ratings 10 - A classic. (Less than 2% receive this rating). For Lifetime Movies for Chicks (LMFC), drop the above scale by 3 notches. A 6 is excellent and 7 almost unattainable.

Captain Lee was billed as the lead for the show, but he only gets about 40 seconds of screen/voice time per episode. With his iconic voice and quips; ie: "madder than a pissed on Chicken"; I expected more of his commentary. The show gives total spoilers in the first minute before the intro and before every commercial break, which kills the viewers anticipation of 'whodunnit'. The producers would do well to watch and emulate 'Homicide with Joe Kenda. Joe's personality shows through as he walks you through the crimes. Lee has what it takes to be a star here, but the show needs to be re-tuned a bit.
...no it has been literally been done before.
The first episode was in regards to the charter boat Joe Cool and the murder of the crew. This story was already done on Hijacked in 2019 and previously on Fatal Encounters 2012.
Episode 2 was about Pegye Bechler's murder i 1997. This incident was covered on Fatal Vows in 2016 and also on Dateline in 2015.
Nothing new was added other than some rehashed interviews with family members and the tedious and drab voice of Captain Lee.
The previous iterations of the coverage of these cases were handled much better on the other shows in my opinion.
Maybe Oxygen can find some new, or at least more obscure cases to cover. If unfamiliar with the listed cases it could be interesting, but I personally have no need for a rehashing of old, already resolved cases.
