Dinner Budget Showdown

Cooking shows are a favorite pastime but this one is just the worst! Couldn't even make it through epidode 1. Decent idea but Sandra Lee ruins the show. Fake personality, fake enthusiasm and fake... everything. Why she is on any show is a mystery. Does anyone remember the great Kwanzaa Cake Disaster? If you need a good laugh, google 'Sandra Lee Kwanzaa Cake' Tube video and enjoy. It's like watching a toilet overflow. As mentioned, the premise of this show is very clever. Unfortunately bad casting. Maybe the guy is good, but he needs to get out before he's forever linked with this loser. Bottom line... Send this one back to the kitchen!

I think it's a great idea to show people how to make delicious meals inexpensively. However, they have a couple of key issues wrong: First, the way they make them shop in only 30 minutes from one expensive store does not mimic reality. Most thrifty shoppers look at sales at various stores to make sure they're getting the best deal.

The second- and biggest - mistake is they calculate based on the WHOLE bottle of spice, oil, package of butter, etc.! It would make so much more sense to divide the price by the percentage that was actually USED!

It's not like people throw out their butter after using a single stick!

The totals they come up with are over $20 per SERVING!
