Movie is show cased by interestingly taken first half with some interesting characters and events which is follows a comedy track. Characters are brilliantly intertwined each other and movie follows a sarcastic approach throughout its events. Some scores are good and it makes the movie more interesting. However, movie became a bit down after second half. Comedy elements are bit low in the second half comparing to first half because it shifts into an emotional track. Screenplay also contain its own faults and it is evident that they lost the control of maintaining the consistency of the screenplay. Screenplay of the movie became a bit wandered after first half, during second half. I didn't got a satisfying climax to the movie. However, the movie became back on track by the arrival of Babu Ramachandran from 'Vallathoru Katha'. I didn't expected it and it was so surprising for me. His portions are well made. Movie in totality follows a sarcastic comedy track with a dark comedy mode. Movie trolls many things and many persons and it was well taken and satisfying for me even though I am their fan boy. Like I said earlier, the characters are more interesting and performance wise they did a great job, especially that of Basil Joseph's and our convincing star Suresh Krishna's. Suresh Krishna was great in this movie and he deserves mention as equivalent of Basil Joseph. Rajesh Madavan also worth mentioning along with them. What a great performance he made. Bro got a good future. Anishma, Siju Sunny and Babu Anthony also did a great job. I felt Babu Anthony's character as unfitting at some situation. At some portions I felt that he is tired by acting. But in some situations, he did a great job. Overall a good dark comedy movie which follows a sarcastic mode throughout the movie, which followed by first half. Even though screenplay became a bit messy and down in the second half, it is brilliantly masked by perfect characters, performance and successfully maintained emotional track. Score also deserves mentioning, especially that of the antagonist during climax portion. Overall a worth watch.
When a TV channel interviews a serial killer to know their real pain, or when a police officer puts more effort into finding his missing dog than solving a case - or when a whole village tries to deport the hero to a faraway place because he's a nuisance - or when a popular Malayalam actor appears in an unexpected guest role... you know you're not watching an ordinary film. These kinds of weirdo things don't happen in most movies, but in Maranamass, you get to witness far more absurdity.
The first half really works and makes you smile internally just seeing how ridiculous and imaginative everything is.
The protagonist, Basil Joseph, deserves a big shoutout. He mocks himself continuously and takes digs at Gen Z concepts like how being a social media influencer doesn't always take you far, or pokes fun at the "Sigma Male" trend. He underplays himself in the second half - until the end, where the tone shifts suddenly toward heroism, which feels exaggerated and inconsistent with the earlier parts.
There are some uncomfortable moments too. One scene involving inappropriate behavior by an older man toward a girl could have been handled more sensitively. Still, the way the girl responds adds a certain boldness, and it takes guts to show something like that on screen in a comical way
The promise shown by the first half makes Maranamass feel like a mass dark comedy - even if it's not exactly "maranamass" in the traditional sense. Unfortunately, the second half loses momentum, and by the time you reach the end, you find yourself just waiting for the climax. As expected, it turns a bit too cinematic and over-the-top - a contrast to the wild but grounded absurdity that came before.
Maranamass worked for me - but it's strictly not for everyone. It's a slow-burn dark comedy. Like eating a banana with poison - weirdly, it tastes good and doesn't actually harm you.

Not every movie needs to be deep or poetic. Sometimes, you just want pure mass entertainment, and Marana Mass delivers exactly that - with punchlines, power stances, and enough slow-motion walks to make your popcorn nervous.
It's the kind of movie where you don't overthink. You just watch.
The characters own the screen - larger than life, stylish, dramatic, and unapologetically over the top. The background score is doing 80% of the emotional heavy lifting, and honestly, that's not a complaint. It works.
Action? Check.
Catchy dialogues? Check.
Whistle-worthy moments? Plenty.
Logic? Left the theatre in the first 10 minutes - but that's part of the fun.
Is it perfect? No. The story is predictable, and there are a few dragged-out scenes that test your patience. But if you're in the mood for something mad, loud, energetic, and unapologetically "mass", this one won't disappoint.
Marana Mass is not here to win awards. It's here to entertain. And it does that pretty well.

This movie took me by surprise with its wild plot, fresh execution, and strong direction. What could have easily turned into a disaster due to its unconventional storytelling instead flourished into a gripping and cohesive experience. The filmmakers deserve credit for sticking to the core narrative while pushing boundaries in form and structure.
The music complements the film beautifully, adding emotional depth and energy to an already compelling story. While this film may not appeal to everyone-especially those looking for conventional fare-those who connect with its theme will likely find it to be pure gold within its genre. A must-watch for adventurous movie lovers.

A series of funny and chaotic events weaved in dark humour template coupled with complementing BGM's.
The plot of the story revolves around a young sigma male trying to blossom the relationship with his love interest unexpectedly falls into a chaotic situation wherein his lady love is involved and how they made out of it forms the storyline.
Sivaprasad & Siju Sunny has fairly managed to come up with a unique and distinctive narrative style without giving any hint of what is going to happen. The first half of the movie may keep the audience puzzled until the story makes an elevation towards the intermission meanwhile giving delectable and laughter moments through some dialogues. The filmmaker has put the audience in a story loop wherein you have to watch the movie till the end to conceive the complete story .
Impressive performances by Basil Joseph,Suresh Krishna,Puliyanam Poulose & Kudassanadu Kanakam. Startling performance by Rajesh Madhavan throughout the story and he has effortlessly carried the character through his style of conversation and mannerisms. Anishma,Jomon Jyothir,Baburaj & Pooja Mohanraj also made convincing performances.
The impressive background scoring by Jay Unnithan that stands coherent with the mood of the story is worth praising.
A decent movie for the ones who follows this genre but may not be everyone's cup of tea.
