On the surface, this low-budget found footage Backrooms flick may not look like much, but this is an exciting and visionary take on the genre and the "Limimal" concept. Combining the psychedelia of Gaspar Noé, the low budget antics of early Harmony Korine, with the slacker vibes of Kevin Smith, these young filmmakers have created something compellingly provocative in a stylistic, thematic, conceptual and aesthetic sense.

Filmed with an incredibly miniscule budget, on a cell phone, in an improvisational fashion apparently inspired by mumblecore films, NOCLIP achieves a gen-z sensibility that speaks to the digital age by evoking not just vlogging culture but streaming culture internet mysteries, in this case, the phenomena of liminal spaces. The mix of cinema, vlogging, Twitch/YouTube/TikTok sensibilities and installation art makes for a trans-medium experience that feels like a real step forward for low budget horror cinema into the realm of surreal online art.

Maybe there is a back story that can make this cool for some people. But I don't get it. Just 2 guys wandering around, getting high, and saying the word liminal too many times. Literally nothing happens.
