Well, it's kinda like The Goonies, but without the cast, the acting, the characters, the story, the clever dialogue, the genius directing, the credibility, the props, the visuals, the overall loveability... Ah, forget it. It's nothing like the Goonies. It's just nothing.
I only give it two stars on account of the occasional spark of genuine comedic brilliance from the supporting actors; very rare, though... Give it a miss. You're missing, well, nothing.

I'm a Huge fan of pirate movies. And Time travel movies. The combo of these two would make an excellent movie.
This movie however wasn't as good as I thought that it would be.
This description said it was an Adventure and Family movie.
I'd see this movie more or less for Children under 15, maybe even 10. It was a simple slightly amusing flick that would catch the eyes of children. I'm 46 years old and I adore a GOOD Disney film, Classic or modern and find good family fun in those.
I was getting bored of this film, wasn't enough action, not as much adventure as I'd like to have seen.
The story and concept was a great idea.

I sat down in 2021 to watch the 2020 movie "Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate's Cove" with my 11 year old son. We were hoping for a wholesome family entertaining movie here from writers Jeffrey Butscher and Chip Fraser.
And while "Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate's Cove" was watchable, it was just ultimately not an overly impressive movie, as it felt very cluttered and not particularly structured in its storyline. And this definitely held the movie back from properly delivering what was expected.
For a movie made in 2020, then I am just dumbfounded at the horrible green screen scenes in the movie. They were so fake that even a blind man would go "oh you've got to be kidding". And even my son was pointing out how horribly fake it looked. So that was not a great thing for the movie.
I have to admit that I sat down to watch "Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate's Cove" with somewhat of an expectation to the movie given the fact that the movie had Malcolm McDowell, Eric Balfour, Patrick Muldoon and Denise Richards on the cast list. But after having sat through the entire movie, I am a little bit puzzled at why they were in a movie such as this as it turned out.
Director Rick Spalla didn't really manage to deliver a memorable movie, much less a wholesome entertaining one either. Sure, the movie was watchable, but it was just too mundane and it is one that will quickly fade into oblivion for me.
My rating of "Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate's Cove" lands on a four out of ten stars.

If you accept it for what it is -- a made for cable TV movie -- it is on par with Nickelodeon and Hallmark, e.g., The Good Witch. Better than Stowaway 2021.
The one thing I don't understand is why Maddie McCormick (Betsy / Constance) tries to pull off an australian accent. Demerit against the director.

Okay, I'm not going to talk about the quality of the acting or the plot. I'm just commenting on family value and is it worth watching. It was a decent movie that the entire family can watch. It was entertaining and fun. Not the best movie ever but if you want to get the family together to watch, you won't be disappointed.

- WissenswertesWriters Jeffrey Butscher and Chip Fraser used their own first names and names of their children as characters in the film's screenplay, namely Jeffrey aka Jeffrey or Geoffrey Pistol, Chip, his son Byron, and Butscher's daughter Brigitte aka Brigette. This is done with no factual reference, just in honor of their kids.
