If you're expecting a gripping love story or emotional depth from Abdullahpur Ka Devdas, prepare to be disappointed. This drama is a masterclass in how to take a classic inspiration and completely drain it of life, logic, and relatability.
The pacing is painfully slow, the characters are underdeveloped, and the dialogue often feels like it's trying too hard to sound poetic-without actually saying anything meaningful. Bilal Abbas Khan's talent feels wasted on a script that meanders between melodrama and self-indulgent monologues. Sarah Khan and Raza Talish, despite their efforts, are lost in a sea of forced symbolism and dull storytelling.
What's worse is the show's obsession with appearing "deep" instead of telling a story that resonates. It confuses ambiguity with brilliance and ends up being neither.
Visually, it's nice-but no amount of aesthetic shots can save a drama that forgets the basics: character growth, emotional connection, and a compelling narrative.
Abdullahpur Ka Devdas might have aimed for art, but it lands as an exhausting, pretentious ride with little reward.

Want to make it even more biting or balance it out with a couple of neutral points for credibility?

How can someone waste so many good actors? The best answer to this question is this series. Great cast (except a few), good plot, exceptional OST but the execution, writing, direction and editing is so pathetic that watching this series is a torture to brain even after presence of a wonderful actor like Bilal Abaas.
There are so many flaws in the story. Thing just happened without any logic. You can say that this is a fiction drama but still there need to be some basic common sense in the drama. Randomly some characters are introduced and dropped about without any effort to build any continuity of story or character.
In short - Don't waste your time.

The whole story starts in a very promising way until it loses its way. The character of Kashif is very poorly played. He looks like a comic character until for some reason the director makes him the most important character around which the story is revolving. They made the real Devdas as a gun wielding gangster and gave him 50cr + bungalow and car out of nowhere. Things starts to happen randomly and the makers wants us to accept things without any logical reasoning. I was just waiting it to finish as the only thing I was wanting to see was the ending which was the only good thing after episode 7. If there is a season 2, the makers should at least work on a good storyline.
Great to see this kind of series. Very interesting to see all cast performing in the series. Sarah Khan and Bilal Abbas Khan were spot on. Specially the acting of other casts were absolutely brilliant. One thing that i missed is the production quality. It should have been better. Anyhow nice.
