If you're looking for a drama with a powerful love story, well-developed characters, and a fresh perspective on tradition, "Abdullahpur Ka Devdas" is definitely worth checking

For fans of epic love stories with a touch of social commentary, "Abdullahpur Ka Devdas" is a must-watch. This Pakistani drama takes the classic Devdas tale and injects it with a modern twist, creating a captivating narrative that resonates with audiences.

A Love Story for the Ages: At the heart of the drama lies the passionate love story between Gulbano (Sarah Khan) and Kashf (Bilal Abbas Khan). Their undeniable chemistry sizzles on screen, making us yearn for their happiness. However, societal pressures and family obligations act as formidable barriers, forcing them down separate paths. The drama unfolds the complexities of their love beautifully, taking viewers on an emotional rollercoaster filled with longing, sacrifice, and the unwavering hope for a future together.

Beyond the Romance: "Abdullahpur Ka Devdas" is more than just a love story. It delves into the complexities of tradition and its impact on modern lives. We see the weight of family honor and societal expectations burdening not just Gulbano and Kashf, but also the supporting characters. The drama doesn't shy away from portraying the struggles faced by women, particularly when caught between love and societal norms. This adds a layer of depth and relatability, sparking conversations about tradition, change, and the pursuit of happiness.

Stellar Performances Captivate: The success of "Abdullahpur Ka Devdas" hinges on the phenomenal performances of its lead actors. Sarah Khan delivers a nuanced portrayal of Gulbano. She embodies the character's strength, vulnerability, and unwavering love with emotional depth. Bilal Abbas Khan is equally captivating as Kashf. He portrays the character's internal conflict, determination, and unwavering devotion with a quiet intensity. The supporting cast deserves recognition as well, each adding their own unique flavor to the narrative tapestry.

A Feast for the Senses: The drama's visual appeal complements the captivating story. The bustling streets of Abdullahpur and the serene beauty of Lahore are brought to life with stunning cinematography. The music deserves special mention. The soulful soundtrack perfectly underscores the emotional moments, weaving a spell that lingers long after the credits roll.

A Minor Quibble: While the story, acting, and direction are top-notch, some viewers might find the production value not quite reaching the level of other high-budget Pakistani dramas. However, this is a minor point that doesn't detract from the overall experience.

A Must-Watch for Drama Lovers: "Abdullahpur Ka Devdas" is a captivating drama that offers a fresh take on a classic tale. It boasts a powerful love story, well-developed characters who grapple with tradition and societal expectations, and stunning performances that will leave a lasting impression. If you're searching for a drama that tugs at your heartstrings, makes you think, and leaves you wanting more, then this is a must-watch.

The perfect addition to your must-watch list of dramas

Gulbano might be the prettiest maiden of the land, making all the men die in her name, but at the end of the day, it is the love between Kashif and Fakhar that steals your heart.

The mystery surrounding the infamous Gul Bano amongst the people of Abdullahpur is so adequately written. The way Fakhar pleads for Gul Bano' s love over Gul Bano herself is a testament to his unrequited love. The supporting characters and how their story evolves on the way, not a single moment in these 12 episodes are dull or wasted away in any sense.

Perfect casting with Sarah Khan, Bilal Abbas, and Raza Talish. Anoushay Abbasi as Jameela was an instant hit. Especially Naumaan Ijaz as Shehenshah will leave you yearning more for his story.

The story gives you a nostalgic air with the setting it has captured around Abdullahpur and Lahore but, as the story progresses we realize that it is the perfect combination of an old classic and a modern-era romance.

Overall, a must-watch drama, with the spellbinding OST to ease your aching heart and the writing is so heartbreakingly beautiful.

Good Storyline

Great to see this kind of series. Very interesting to see all cast performing in the series. Sarah Khan and Bilal Abbas Khan were spot on. Specially the acting of other casts were absolutely brilliant. One thing that i missed is the production quality. It should have been better. Anyhow nice.

Very poorly written and directed

The whole story starts in a very promising way until it loses its way. The character of Kashif is very poorly played. He looks like a comic character until for some reason the director makes him the most important character around which the story is revolving. They made the real Devdas as a gun wielding gangster and gave him 50cr + bungalow and car out of nowhere. Things starts to happen randomly and the makers wants us to accept things without any logical reasoning. I was just waiting it to finish as the only thing I was wanting to see was the ending which was the only good thing after episode 7. If there is a season 2, the makers should at least work on a good storyline.

Poor execution

How can someone waste so many good actors? The best answer to this question is this series. Great cast (except a few), good plot, exceptional OST but the execution, writing, direction and editing is so pathetic that watching this series is a torture to brain even after presence of a wonderful actor like Bilal Abaas.

There are so many flaws in the story. Thing just happened without any logic. You can say that this is a fiction drama but still there need to be some basic common sense in the drama. Randomly some characters are introduced and dropped about without any effort to build any continuity of story or character.

In short - Don't waste your time.

Decent story poorly executed

It seemed to be a good promising story to begin with with the market chase to establish relationship between the two male leads. Burad promising to purchase chaiwali property. Entry of the girl their cravings to meet, sending letters. It all felt good till that while haveli guy was killed. After that it was all downhill. There were so many plot holes and pointless things in writings and direction. Even though it only has 13 episodes still it felt dragged and pointless in the middle. Ending part felt good from the point onwards when Gulbano receives message from SIM card about Kashifs location.

A Pretentious Mess Disguised as Art

If you're expecting a gripping love story or emotional depth from Abdullahpur Ka Devdas, prepare to be disappointed. This drama is a masterclass in how to take a classic inspiration and completely drain it of life, logic, and relatability.

The pacing is painfully slow, the characters are underdeveloped, and the dialogue often feels like it's trying too hard to sound poetic-without actually saying anything meaningful. Bilal Abbas Khan's talent feels wasted on a script that meanders between melodrama and self-indulgent monologues. Sarah Khan and Raza Talish, despite their efforts, are lost in a sea of forced symbolism and dull storytelling.

What's worse is the show's obsession with appearing "deep" instead of telling a story that resonates. It confuses ambiguity with brilliance and ends up being neither.

Visually, it's nice-but no amount of aesthetic shots can save a drama that forgets the basics: character growth, emotional connection, and a compelling narrative.

Abdullahpur Ka Devdas might have aimed for art, but it lands as an exhausting, pretentious ride with little reward.

THE ONLY THING GOOD AB THIS DRAMA WERE THE ACTORS

The story didnt make any sense to me. Theres just this one girl and literally everyone wants her. Filled with confusions and unrealistic coincidences. I wanted to watch it because of that OST but tbh kinda hated it. The last 10 minutes of the drama was the only time i enjoyed a bit. The actors were good, acting was good but the story and the execution was just POOR. Some of the videography was really good specially in the forst couple of episodes but overall i would recommend anyone watching this for the plot. I didnt get the point that they met each other like 2 times. But har dafa she couldn't see his face and because of this confusion u have to watch 10 useless episodes. And the bahana they got for this is that RAAT thi and i couldnt see his face like wtf?? Raat ko nazar nahi aata kia?
