A man (Malvino Salvador) returns to his hometown and remembers his childhood and his love for the movies he watched alongside his
best friend, with both collecting film reels from the old cinema, and also playing of making movies as they dream of working in the area. The man is back in town to meet his
comrade (Otto Jr.) who stayed behind, and now runs the cinema that is about to close.
It's a little hard to talk about this short without spoiling but I'll try. "Cine Centímetro" is a nostalgic view of childhood and that
generation's first contacts with the art of movies, but it gets a downer when its revealed the destiny of both grown man and also the director's
ultimate idea while stating facts about the closure of street cinemas, specially the ones from smalltowns and how new generations won't have that
kind of community experience unless if moving to bigger areas with shopping malls.
If developed with more ideas and expanding the reunion of old friends, it'd be a little more satisfying as a film. But the part with the
kids and their imagination while creating their own "movies", trying to escape from the reprehension of their parents, is delightful to watch as
there are moments when one can relate with past experiences where movies had a significant importance. 7/10.
