Here's a mystery solved! This short movie is on George Pal's filmography, with no information other than its title and Pal's name. But I was poking around the extras on the PUPPETOONS MOVIE #3 Blu-ray and there it is!
But what is it? It's a short industrial film. To be precise, it's an advertisement meant to be shown in movie theaters, a mix of live-action and Pal's silly stop-motion work, advertising Peter Paul's Mounds. Although ownership of the brand may have changed, I still see them occasionally on the candy counters. Usually when I want something like that, I go for the Almond Joys. They are, after all, Mounds -- shredded cocoanut, sugar, and milk chocolate -- with an almond.
Maybe next time I'll get a Mounds.
