Ich lasse mir nichts mehr gefallen

A 6.9/10 movie, really ? Please explain. I don't understand the average rating for this film: 6.9? Really ? I'm trying to understand the reasons that allowed some people to give it 7 or even 8 out of 10. If the film isn't a complete failure, I was quite bored. Fortunately, it's always great to see Yolande and other cult figures from the world of Kerven. But there, the characters are only fed a story that doesn't go very far, with an impression of being reheated to boot. I watch other well-known films like Mammuth (my favorite), Not Dead, Louise Michel, Delete History which in places have some weaknesses but are always more accomplished than this Je Ne Me Laisserai Plus Faire.

The story follows Émilie, a septuagenarian residing in a nursing home, who, after the death of her only son and sole support, decides to seek revenge on all the malicious individuals she has encountered throughout her life.

"Je ne me laisserai plus faire" masterfully blends elements of comedy and drama. Gustave Kervern's direction brings a unique blend of humor and poignancy, creating a narrative that is both thought-provoking and entertaining. The performances by Yolande Moreau and Laure Calamy are exceptional, delivering depth and authenticity to their characters' journeys. The film's storytelling is both engaging and reflective, offering a fresh perspective on themes of revenge and personal redemption. Overall, it's a compelling watch that leaves a lasting impression.
