This movie was sort of special. The only way to review this movie is by list points.
Here's what's wrong with it: Hand signals/commands are often wrong and extremely overused. Too many GoPro camera shots. Cliché'd soldier lines. Cliché'd scenarios. Extensive use of weapons with total disregard of gun mechanism reality. Blow stuff up first and then ask questions. Highly unprofessional & childish tactics. HQ felt like a LAN-Party and not as official intelligence center. No characters are even remotely likable. Cheesy drama (Soldier dies). LOL Entire movie feels like White Boys vs Nigros. That's how political incorrect that movie is.
The good thing: Blow stuff up. A lot of it. And millions of rounds of bullets. Like rain. Or a hailstorm.
It's nothing compared to any other military movie, because this one, is cheap in every regard. If you like Call of Duty rip-offs and those sorta indie FPS video games, you will watch this, for sure, yet you will shake your head at how ridicules this movie was. Nevertheless, if you like bullet rain and bombs blowing up, give it a try.

I'm assuming this is what happens when a marginally okay director picks up a script from a special needs kid. It's not even a good idea for a charity project but what amazes me is how they got a halfway decent cast, and what seems to be a huge amount of funding and the backing of one of the largest Hollywood production studios all to produce this atrocity. Maybe Hollywood needs to stop for a moment and take a good look at itself. I am aware that there's "movies" out there that are worse, but non of them really irritated me like this one because they clearly had more resources than they deserve to make this pile of garbage.
This was amongst my unwatched dvds...from a bargain bin....finally watched it. Wasn't expecting much.....didn't expect to watch all of it.....but I did end up watching till the end. The best action sequences are at the end. The rest of the movie is mediocre. Mainly due to poor directing and camerawork. I watched the dvd extras and found the problem. The director is also the director of photography(DOP). There was spectacular action but it was covered crudely by too many cameras. Personally, I don't think its a good idea for a director to shout action and then run around with his eyes stuck in a camera viewfinder. This movie is an excellent example of why a director should not do that. Some of the action sequences are too long with too many different camera angles of the same action. The acting is mediocre, most probably due to lack of direction. The story was interesting. The action, although covered poorly, was good. This could have been a good movie but sadly its just mediocre.
i have to say that this movie rocks! forget about the flaws of the screenplay, it's okay. you have to kowtow to these actors who played the tough roles of this small team infiltrated behind enemy line to do a mission absolutely impossible. the combat firefighting scenes one after another were excellent, the camera man followed the actors during the combat that made you feel that you were also following them doing the shootings, the dashing, the evasive zigzagging running. all these five actors who played the small navy seal team did quite a believable job. what the leading actor did in this film was quite amazing. when he fell down the staircase to escape the explosion, i really don't know how he or the stuntman did to avoid the continued falls and crushing down the stairs one after another. there were constant firefights, close combats that were performed and carried out like real, although these guys seemed to immune to the bullets and their ammunitions seemed never used up. but funny thing is that i have surprised myself to willingly accept such impossible ridicules. i rarely like such military crappy movies before, but this time, i quite enjoyed it and enjoyed greatly. the kamikaze style fighting scenes were simply too great to be picky. all the stunts did in this film were top-notched and professionally carried out in a perfect way.
by the way, there's obviously an editing error of the movie @ time frame 01:16:14 and then @ 01:16:23, @ the first one, he already got off the chopper, why @ the next he still sitting in chopper and talking, then jumped off the chopper again? the editor should be kicked on the shin to wake up.

I think some folk who have reviewed this flick in the past are judging it by storyline. I approach war / action /terrorism movies simply from the following ways: 1. Is there a sinister evil enemy that is believable and makes you despise them by the end? 2. Creative cinematography. Cmon we have all seen people shot in the head, there are very few gruesome scenes that have not been done before. Have to say there were a few in this (albeit unbelievable) that made me go wow. 3. Overall training of the actors. Do they look like soldiers, hold their gun as if they have been to boot camp. Thought Lex Shrapnel (what a name) was decent in this and others were strong characters.
This movie meets all of these critique elements and some. I definitely don't recommend this flick for people who are not in to saving private ryan, black hawk down etc. but for for those that do, this movie is a solid 6/10.

- WissenswertesDuring the raid at around 21 mins one of the men asks for a mirror, and then says "I saw this in a movie once" and proceeds to stick the mirror around the corner the of door to spot the enemy. This is referencing the movie Saving Private Ryan which 'Tom Sizemore' was in and participated in the mirror scene in that movie.
