Cold Eyes

Its a story about a surveillance team operation and a robber group lead by a mysterious. Decent story and moderate action sequences. The whole movie concentrate on hide & seek of two group of people and there is no one else. Movie is missing the background of the mysterious leader AKA shadow character. His motives and issues with handler is not clear. I found tailing the target scenes are bit immature, could have been much better. But overall story and cinematography is good.

I came to this without real expectations… first five minutes I was lost and uninterested, ten minutes warming up. Suddenly, I felt like being part of the film, of the team, (the good guys), following the robbers and "Shadow" from the edge of my seat, and all this without CGI involved! Catching the bad guys hasn't been so much entertainment for me in a little while… and the characters do not scream their lungs out, or run through the streets knocking everyone else down, on the contrary they act as discreet as a surveillance team should in real life.

"Cold Eyes" is a movie that delivers, and the action is not over the top, so it may be unsatisfying for Hollywood standards, but what it lacks in explosions and heart pounding chases, fulfill with characters and situations that we care,so, if you like good thriller with some action just sit and enjoy this Korean Movie!

This tells the operations of a team of surveillance officers tracking some most wanted criminals in South Korea.

Piggy is a new recruit into the surveillance team, and her initial test to see if she has photographic memory is already very impressive. When she is on the field and put to test, she and her team continues to excel in all ways possible. The technology they used, their analytical power and their brilliant skills dazzle viewers. The numerous close shaves keep viewers on edge, and there were many occasions I could feel myself holding my breath, waiting for critical events to unfold.

I have watched a few Korean films lately, and I have been thoroughly impressed by all of them. "Cold Eyes" continues the streak of great Korean films to be exported abroad, as it is a thriller that cuts right to the chase and keeps you on edge throughout the film. If you have the chance, go watch "Cold Eyes".

You can call it a remake or inspired but this movie resembles Simon Yam's 'Eye in the sky' and a little bit of 'Infernal Affairs'. And that confirms when Simon himself appears as a cameo at the end. This Korean movie was very stylishly made especially the character appearances. An exciting pace with high tech electronic devices implements to spy the criminals gives a very modern look on detectives.

The movie begins with a twist at opening itself like some interview to hire somebody. Its a surveillance theme where a team of Korean intelligence works together to take down a group of bank robbers. Piglet is a given pet name to a newly recruited officer for the special crime unite. Her impressive observation talent puts her straight into a major spying case. Soon she gets her first field assignment to track the movements of one of the heist member. The thrilling story of 'Cold Eyes' tells how Piglet and her team led by Lee jointly acts to get the ruthless thieves.

This movie portrayed only between the two groups and nothing else like the rest of the world is blind. Between these two, the thieves and cops, it is demonstrated like a cat-mouse game. It was a good entertaining movie one can enjoy it thoroughly. If you have already seen 'Eye in the sky' or not, no matter this movie is still looking good on its own so you will have a good time. There were no hardcore stunts in the movie except a couple of quick sequences. After all it is a spying theme which fulfills its purpose in a stylish manner.

Cold Eyes is a fast paced crime drama which begins with a pretty young girl on a subway who seems to be a regular passenger with other riders. Hyo-ju Ha is the actress, and she is the star here, a natural beauty who you cannot take your eyes off of. She turns out to be an undercover cop tracking bad guys. Later on, she is teamed with other police, all men, by the way, who join together to catch a ruthless group of criminals who have robbed a bank. Most of the film is set in a large room filled with monitors showing various parts of a Korean city. It moves along quickly, with a solid cast and decent storyline. The ending is nothing new, but overall it is better than average.
