Due to the fact that filming in a real lift would create many difficulties, the filmmakers constructed a set in a studio to for the lift interior, and only used locations (the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and surroundings) for the beginning and end of the film. Matching continuity was made more difficult when, due to a number of factors, these two shoots ended up taking place over a year apart - the location scenes were shot in February 2022, and after the set was built the studio scenes were shot in March 2023.
