Desperate to get out of his rut in life, an American decides to go to a brothel in Amsterdam to experience the drugs and culture there, but when he arrives finds the drug he's ingested turns him into a human/shark hybrid and begins eating the brothel's workers must find a way to stop him.
This was a fairly fun and enjoyably cheesy genre effort. One of the better features here is the way this one works in quite a fun setup to become the kind of cheesy storyline present. With the main starting point being the guy's trip to the brothel and attempt to experiment with the local drug culture while there, but comes across the drug created by the workers there to supposedly enhance their patrons' pleasure, only to learn that it turns him into a deformed human/shark hybrid, this becomes immensely fun. As there's enough built up about what kind of life he lives, what kind of purpose he has for visiting Amsterdam in the first place, and what kind of purpose the drug was supposed to offer in its creation, this all creates a finely-tuned cheesy setup that's perfect for this kind of genre effort. The end result of that setup is a series of silly and goofy creature attacks that take place in the brothel. Focusing on the recurring gag of everyone coming into the room to see what he's doing with the girls in the brothel and then getting outwitted and devoured in gloriously goofy fashion, it features a nice bit of silly setups that manage to bring the brain-dead workers into the room and ready to be devoured. The graphic kills accomplished with appropriately cheesy effects complement the equally goofy setups featured in the attacks. With the hilarious humor involving the back-and-forth banter of the investigating cops trying to get to the scene to investigate the crimes and a perfectly goofy approach to the killer shark, there are some great features here. This one doesn't have much wrong with it, but there are some issues. The main factor here is based on the tolerance to the kind of material presented here, as this one manages to highlight the kind of low-budget origins at all points. From the suburban setup where the brothel is located, which looks nowhere close to Amsterdam, the scenes involving the creature attacking the brothel workers continuously wander into the crime scene, which feels like the same scene over and over again, and the majority of the film carries a similar style of guerrilla filmmaking. It has several other hallmarks, especially with the constant cutaways to the bickering officers that eat up time or the workers not realizing what's going on and leaving the brothel, as the actions are quite unrealistic by design, making for the issues within this one.
