Mini Reni

I'm a huge fan of fixer-upper, as well as a huge fan of Chip and Joanna. They're amazing together and I really like the dry humor of Joanna combined with Chip just being funny. I watched fixer-upper because you could glean a lot of construction knowledge as well as interior design. I thought Mini Reni would be amazing because now we can transition that into regular folks that are looking to do things within their own home on the budget that they can contain. Why are back to talking about you upgrading your home and your business? This is pitched as for normal folks ,and now it's still just a pitch and watching an episode about you building your second kitchen? Because you don't have enough room? I really thought it was gonna be a show that helped regular folks do cool stuff at their house for an economical price. Now we're looking at you building a second kitchen.

How would you go about getting on this mini renovation? I would love to get one. My home is 17 years old and I could use some updates. We put in new floors updated. One of the bathrooms I've done some other stuff, but I really would like some updating in my kitchen. And , my husband's bathroom? We live on 2 acres kind of in the country, but I need an update. Even some touch-ups in the living room. I have an open floor plan and I'd like it to tie in better with the kitchen in the family room. Or maybe even the master bedroom remodel, I don't care if any rooms would be fine, just as long as joanne does it.

Mini Reni is a great concept although much of the new designs feel like a flashback to the 80s. Plaid wallpapers, rounded doorway arches and cabinets, gold plated light fixtures ala Miami 1980s. Feels like the "before" in early Fixer Upper seasons.

Interesting to see the change from shiplap obsession to endless rounded corners on mirrors, counters, cabinets and just about everything else. Much of the wallpapers feel like a boy's room circa 1983.

It is great to see the Gaines' feature talented design team members out from behind the scenes but now the rounded corner trends are popping up everywhere- and hopefully won't last for long.

Cudos to the Gaines empire though for the endless entertainment and design. We will happily watch any show they produce.
