I was exited to watch the adaptation of Claudia Piñero's book. I loved the book, enjoyed reading about privileged life of the rich and demise of their souls behind their appearances.

But I could not finish the first episode. I do not understand how it became a pseudo-erotic drama and I could not stand the exaggerated performances from the actors.

I tried switching from the original spanish (my mother tongue) to another language; and although the dialog became less marred in "mexicanism" (the book is set in Argentina) the director's choices were unbearable.

The production design and some of the actors were good, that is why I am giving it 3/10. But I would avoid this aberration of a tv series.

The show was incredibly slow and boring. All 6 episodes are different POV of the same boring plot. The characters are very rigid and unlikable. There is no plot progression. The story starts and ends the same way. Also, the plot makes little or no sense. It could have been made into a movie cause the whole show could have ended in episode 1. Not really sure of what the aim of the makers were cause if anything, the entire storyline is just depressing. If you are looking for something exciting or meaningful then I absolutely do not recommend this show. Maybe nice if you need something to help you fall asleep though.

It could've been so much better. I hated the end? It lacked of strength.

But the show was very entertaining, the actors where so good, the dialogue was so real, the locations was super cool but I wish they've shown more of the contrast of life in Mexico.

That's said, other bad thing was some of the Wardrobe, not realistic in how that 1% dresses Elon Mexico.

Omar Chaparro was a very pleasant surprise, he is usually doing annoying characters on tv, this one was strong and dramatic and serious acting suits him.

But oh lord the en was so meh.... Now I am off to read the book and that may change my review.

Watch it!! Fun, mexican entertainment. Get a peak at how the rich live in Mexico. Shows the relationships amongst the hired help and the grandiose attitude they all posess. This is well narrated, well acted and a very entertaining plot featuring interesting characters. It's great entertainment. Some scenes are raunchy but they demonstrate the character of its cast. The families were individually described in each of its episodes. It starts off with the end then tells you how each of them got there. The featured music is very good. You love and Hate the characters, but mostly hate them. Watch!!

This is an example of the new type of Telenovela from Mexico that deals with the socio-economic divide that plagues the country. There are the usual rich vs poor, indigenous vs "eurochilango" and social class dynamics. The story has a "Peyton Place" type theme, with the usual dark secrets that are buried beneath the facade of apparent wealth and respectability. Some of the subplots never develop into anything and one wonders why they have been since they contribute very little to the overall story. There is little progression or character development, and viewers are left hanging since it never completes the story arc. Entertaining if one knows the culture and the slang, but nothing special at all. There are much better examples of the "new Telenovela". The House of Flowers comes to mind!
