Who's Watching Us

Stumbling upon another movie from Maverick Entertainment by sheer random chance. And I have to admit that as soon as I saw that ethereal horse galloping across the screen, my expectations to "Who's Watching Us" dropped to slim. But still, I opted to give the movie a fair chance, on the off-chance that this would be one of those rare instances where Maverick Entertainment actually churned out something good.

Writer Denise Mone't, whom also directed the movie, put together a script and storyline that ultimately was rather bland and monotonous. For a thriller, I have to say that there was surprisingly little of anything thrilling taking place on the screen. Well, unless you consider a snail paced narrative as thrilling. The narrative certainly had potential, but it just wasn't all that outstanding, and made for a dull viewing experience.

I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, and that actually was something that spoke in favor of the movie. Yeah, I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen when I sit down to watch a movie. The acting performances in "Who's Watching Us" were good, and they were a major step up from the usual amateurish performances you would expect from a Maverick Entertainment movie.

The production level is a major step up from the usual rubbish that Maverick Entertainment spews out. So that definitely spoke well in favor of "Who's Watching Us".

"Who's Watching Us" had potential, and it was a shame that the narrative was such a sluggish swing and a miss, especially since the production and acting was a major step up for Maverick Entertainment.

My rating of writer and director Denise Mone't's 2024 thriller "Who's Watching Us" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
