The two-and-a-half-hour runtime of this movie felt excessively long, as it stretched out a single plot without introducing any other exciting scenarios. Several unnecessary scenes inside the bus during the first half could have easily been trimmed. The first half was little too lengthy which made me bored even before the first half.
The performances of the asif and suraj were engaging, but the excessive duration and repetition made it frustrating. Some of the humor landed well, while most of them fell flat. They might thought that, "Bosse" will be new trending thing but I feel irritated when I hear that now. Overall, it was a below-average experience and didn't work for me as well.

Two strangers meet at a bus station. One is obviously rich and has enough money to spend randomly, has no hesitancy in invading other people's space for his own happiness. The other one is the poor guy whose mother is hospitalized and is struggling to arrange money required for her treatment. The two meet and embark on a unplanned journey, as the poor guy hopes to get the rich guy to help him out with the money he needs. Instead they bond over and learn about each other's lives while life teaches them a lesson which one is eager to learn while the other has no other choice but to learn.
Asif Ali and Suraj Venjaramoodu are aptly cast in the role of the rich Prince and the poor Sathyapriyan, whose names are revealed only in the climax. I understood what the writer and director intended to make with these two characters, from different backgrounds and even more different look at life altogether. But the writing leaves a lot to be desired as Asif Ali tries to bring his character to life, there is no credible moment to accept why others would tolerate this stranger. There was scope to explore, a well off man with his family caring for him and he still feels lonely but the scenes don't really get fleshed out to back the character arc. The more we learn about his family, I felt lesser connected to his predicament with his biggest regret was about his ex-girlfriend.
On the other hand, the more relatable character was the one played by Suraj and here is a guy who has completely accepted his fate, doesn't even try to fight it. There is guilt and helplessness in him while he feels rightfully shy to take advantage of his new friend. He understands Prince better than Prince understands Sathyapriyan. He not just accompanies him till the end but stays as his true friend, taking care of him. Rich no matter how much they wander will eventually find their destination while the poor are left stranded to wander line is elevated by Suraj's character. With better writing, Adios Amigo could have been a memorable feel good cinema but ends up way too short of it.

Adios Amigo (2024) starts on a fun note, making its direction clear early on. However, by the second half, it becomes evident that the writer loses grip on the narrative, and the director struggles to steer it effectively. Suraj delivered his role with precision, and his character's development supported his performance. Asif Ali put in effort but was let down by a half-baked character. While the film had a strong framework, the lack of well-rounded writing prevented it from becoming the feel-good travel movie it aimed to be.
One lingering question: why didn't the character use his Federal Bank debit card to withdraw cash? This plot hole feels like an odd oversight.

Just when I thought there couldn't possibly be a "substandard" Malayalam movie, along comes #AdiosAmigo. Despite the presence of capable actors like Suraj Venjaramoodu and Asif Ali, this is a futile movie. What is the narrative exactly about? After meeting at a bus stop, two men decide to travel together. Since they don't have a set destination, they go to different places and spend time together. The disparities between the affluent and the poor are amply displayed in the movie. There are some wealthy individuals who believe that having money is irrelevant if it cannot be used to assist the underprivileged. There are some poor people who desperately need money to clear their medical bills but are unable to procure funds for the same. Performances are good. Running time needs to be reduced by 25 minutes. Rating 1.5/5.
A recent addition to Netflix, Adios Amigo made its way in without much noise, sliding in and out of theaters just as quietly. With strong performers featured on the poster, this was one to watch.
A quirky, rich guy with a heart of gold meets a man struggling to make ends meet. How they develop a bond over a few days forms the crux of the story.
The movie starts on an interesting note, with the characters being well-established. The plot is simple but gets dragged out. It could have easily been trimmed by 30 minutes to make a stronger impact.
Asif Ali's portrayal of a big-hearted, naïve drunkard is unique, and he plays the role with perfection. This character could have easily become cringeworthy, but he makes it endearing and entertaining. Suraj Venjaramoodu, with his poised stance, makes you root for him. Their chemistry works in the movie's favor. Anagha, though in a small role, proves her potential.
The songs add to the runtime and could have been cut. The comedy falls flat at multiple points, and the logic takes a backseat, but given the comedic nature of the film, this can be overlooked. The climax will surely touch your heart.
With crisper writing and tighter screenplay, the movie had the potential to get viewers more invested, but sadly, it turned out to be an average affair. Watch it if you're in the mood for something light and don't have anything solid to watch.
