Jinn: The Pet

This film is a monumental waste of time and money, a cinematic black hole that seems to actively absorb any shred of enjoyment from its audience. From start to finish, it's a masterclass in how not to make a movie.

The screenplay is an absolute disaster. It's less a narrative and more a chaotic jumble of half-baked ideas and utterly nonsensical plot points.

And speaking of bad, the direction is equally appalling. It's as if the director had never seen a movie before, let alone directed one. Shots are poorly framed, the lighting is inconsistent, and there's a baffling lack of visual storytelling. Every scene feels flat and uninspired, and the film drags endlessly, despite its relatively short runtime. There's no tension, no atmosphere, just a series of events mechanically strung together.

Save yourself the agony. Do not watch this film. It's a soulless, uninspired mess that exemplifies everything wrong with modern filmmaking.

This story is not even suitable for bedtime stories for kids, and they are confident in creating this without any hesitation. They believe they created a new kind of film in Tamil cinema, but actually, they made a film for a kids' channel.

With a proper story and screenplay, this could have been a better one, but they wasted it. Jinn's CG works are made just for name's sake. And there is no difference among the characters of the same type; they just added, changed the colour to show this one is good and another one is evil. This is the most outdated, and with the current technology, they can do better.

Man characters are not used, and they are placed to show numbers in the cast.

This movie has some historical connection with some of the characters it is also not executed well.

Even though this movie has many actors who have acted in many good movies, they didn't get any chance to show their potential.

Simply, this is suitable for a TV serial, not for the cinema.

Bad Direction, Bad Acting by some, Bad Writing.

The seasoned actors did a great job - that is for saving the film from failing completely.

But director is really bad at executing the work or screenplay. Story is solid like Aladdin, but bad execution leads to forgetfulness.

The lack of connection or understanding between the so called new actors leads to downfall more.

Technical crews did an ok job and CG is ok for the budget - was not really expecting so much on those.

Music and songs was good and catchy. BGM could have worked better

The AI cartoons was working well. They could have focused more on that to build their skillsets.

Absolute waste of a move !

Cringe dialogues, worthless screenplay, clueless director and editor and absolutely talentless lead pair of actors !

The leads as well the 'villian' was ridiculous talentless, they cannot act at all.

Now had the VFX and editing and screenplay been better - we could have sort of ignored the cringe dialogues and ridiculous acting - but that is even worse!

This was painful to watch - even in OTT with fast forward - I saw this movie in about 30 - 40 mins (was skipping through the out movie) - but even then it is was irritating !

I would not wish even my worst enemy should watch this ! Heck, this can be used to torture mechanism! It is that horrible.

Final Verdict : Run! Save yourself.
