Well you can imagine what word is missing there, I'll give you a clue ... starts with an f and ends with an ing ... well no pun intended. And it isn't the only thing that ... well does our main character. Quite a lot of things she is taking in - in various ways.
Either partner wise or drugs wise. Not wise at all though - especially considering she is pregnant. That said, I don't want to sound too judgy ... she seems and feels like a lost case most of the time. She tries hard to get rid of her previous and old life style ... even more so when it comes to social services and her unborn ... the system has a set of rules ... if you don't follow them ... well it will be quite the struggle.
You may feel she is not entitled to her baby .. or that she might be a bad influence ... that she won't be able to raise it ... I am not telling if the movie is resolving all the issues and questions you may have ... it might not ... but the acting is superb and if you are able to have at least some empathy for a broken down character ... well she is able to evoke all those emotions! And never forget: she is only acting like that ... great drama ... but tough to swallow most of the time ... not made as a feel good movie, it might still confirm and/or be life assuring ...
