I have given this 10 stars, not just for this series, but for the whole saga, starting with the film This is England. Shane Meadows is without doubt one of the most gifted writers and directors around today; his style quite unique and his ability to get totally deep and realistic performances out of his young cast quite mesmeric. Particular mention goes to Vicky McClure as Lol who gives powerhouse performances throughout the whole saga, and Stephen Graham as the deeply troubled, intermittently terrifying (but reformed?) Combo. All cast deserve great credit indeed.
Without a doubt, one of the very best things I have ever seen on British TV.

No words, just watch. Artistic genius, I cried laughed sobbed cackled gasped. Just incredible
I'll keep it short, all of the This is England dramas are a masterpiece in writing by Shane Meadows. Some of the viewing is uncomfortable to watch but watch you have to as you are glued to the screen.
The actors and actresses are quite simply superb, and why british drama is there in my opinion as the best in the world.
Watch them all now, you won't be able to shake it out of your mind.
Well done to all 10/10 for everything.

Can't believe that this series remained so good throughout all the iterations.
90' was just spectacular. I'm running out of ways to describe the epicness of the show.
They divided this latest installment into seasons of the year. That was brilliant in my opinion. Every season brings something different, so in a metaphorical way, every episode brought something different. (Which ended up being the case.)
We find the gang fully embracing rave culture and everything that comes with it (drugs). Lots and lots of it.
The ladies all work together in the same place. Lol and Woody have a baby of their own now. Shaun looks for smell, finds her she tells him that she started seeing someone. As result, he hangs at Harvey and Gadgets place, to feel better. What results was pure Gold. Harvey impersonates Smell and makes Shaun feel a little better. I was laughing and smiling while watching this. It was so freaking funny. I rewatched it three times in a row cause it was so hilarious. Probably in the top 3 of funniest scenes of the show.
Most of the gang head to a rave, but get lost on the way. They encounter new age travelers and party with them all night. The end result is so horrible as we see Kelly use heroin for the first time and has sex (or raped) by several men. She develops a bad habit after this which eventually lead her to live in a dealers house.
So much more happens and it's a truly emotional season. I haven't mentioned the best parts because I want you to feel how I felt when watching it. There's one particular scene with Kelly and her family that was just so insane.
This installment wraps up decently, but felt like there was a few hiccups. Why add the scene with Shaun and Smell in the end, if we don't see what happens afterwards. I really wanted something to come out of them two.
What happened to Kelly? Heck, what happened to Combo? - You'll have to watch in order to find out. Both every surprising.
Either way this "review"/rant, is over. This is truly one amazing experience. I love these characters, and I loved every second of the entire series.
This gets a LennyReviewz Score of: 9/10.

Lockdown prompted to watch the whole film and series again. Truly one of the best things on TV. So many outstanding performances and both hilarious and heartbreaking storylines.

- WissenswertesThis series isn't necessarily the last, director Shane meadows has said it is a full stop with a pencil with the potential for a This is England 92, 98 and 2000
- PatzerThere are a number of turns of phrase used throughout the series, largely Americanisations, which didn't come into use in the UK until much later; Referring to individuals as "dude", referring to a mixed-sex group as "guys", terms such as "I'm Good", "hot mess" etc. I would assume the blame for this lies with the young cast members being allowed some element of improvisation whilst being unaware of the linguistic norms of the period.
