Only Friends is that kind of BL series where you'll find yourself thinking, "What the heck did I just watch?" and honestly, I loved every second of the chaos! It's hands down one of the messiest, most toxic shows I've ever seen... but also one of the most entertaining.
I didn't skip a single scene. If you're into clean-cut romances, this isn't for you. This series is packed with love triangles (and squares), cheating, red flags, friends-with-benefits, betrayal, you name it. Basically, relationship drama dialed up to 100. Watch with caution: this is definitely not for the faint of heart.
Cheum is probably the only sane character in the whole thing. Everyone else? A beautiful disaster. But that's what makes it so addicting. Messy as it is, the story pulls you in from the start. Just give it a shot and you'll get why people (and reviewers) can't stop talking about it.

What a perfect name, for a place to stay. And what a perfect series to learn a lot about relationships. Either with a significant one or with friends. This series can teach you a lot about what to and what not to do in maintaining a relationship. There's not a single boring moment I that got when I was watching it. Every episode was packed with emotional roller coaster. Everybody love to hate the antagonists in every story. But without them, there won't be a good story to tell. The conflicts and problems in this series' plot were delivered elegantly and without unnecessary extra scenes. You know how some series tend to prolong the romance or drag the conflict? You won't find such trouble in this series. This is the perfect series to learn about growth. Warning : almost every episodes are sprinkled with steamy or erotic scenes. Get ready to get hot and bothered.
"Only Friends": One of those BL series from Thailand that has already become a classic-definitely a "must-watch." I binged all 12 episodes swinging between "What an amazing series!" and "WTF!!! 😱". It's super entertaining. Once it grabs you, it doesn't let go until the very last episode. Season two has a tough job ahead, because it won't be easy to match this one.
The story is raw but never vulgar, since everything that's told and shown has a purpose within the narrative. I felt like nothing was there without meaning-unlike many series where, for example, sex is just a cheap and gratuitous hook with no story to justify or contextualize it. At times, it was shocking. The characters are complex, damaged, lost in themselves or in others. There's a lot of emotional indifference, the kind that confronts you with the futility of some experiences. And yet, in the cracks, something endearing, tender, profound, and hopeful emerges.
I liked it. It has a solid script, good direction, and excellent performances. And the OST? Amazing. It seems like First and Khao are always in series with incredible soundtracks-this one's right up there with *The Heart Killers*. Of course, they were the story I liked the most, the one with the best development, and probably the main reason my overall impression is so positive. They're both fantastic. I'm a huge fan of Khaotung's acting-he's an outstanding Thai actor.

Wow! Amazing! Sexy! Messy! If you're in the mood to binge some drama while drinking a glass of wine. Then this is the series for you. I love the consistency of the characters throughout the episodes. It made them seem like a realistic friend group. The mess they do to each other is a little deprived. But it's so enjoyable to watch. I went thru every emotion there is rooting for and against the characters. I related to every one of them on some level. The actors are absolutely amazing. They took the writers words and brought them to life. This was my first time seeing a few of my favorite actors play serious roles. Sometimes we don't want to see a "feel good movie". We want to see real life drama. We want to see people going thru similar mess as our own. And that's exactly what this series is.
Where do I even start with this show? Just know that what you've heard about it is true. Does it get messy? Petty? Toxic even? Yes, yes, and yes. And it's all the better because of it because I honestly feel like this is probably the most realistically plotted BL to date.
All the characters feel so real, and whether you like them or hate them, whether you can personally relate to them or not, they feel like real people. This is the type of show I feel like all queer people of a certain age should watch, regardless of your native tongue or background, because it's such an honest portrayal of our lives.
And the very best part of the show to me is actually the absolutely incredible performances that all the main actors are giving, as they play against type in complex, challenging roles. My personal favorites were First and Khaotung, who were an absolute joy to watch, especially in their shared scenes. Everyone brought their A game though.
I've said enough though, I obviously highly recommend this show <3 haha.
