Love a la Carte

Love A La Carte is sure to be a cult classic. Though untraditional in it's structure and style, the universal theme of love and commitment is well established and played out in the unique and colorful characters of the story. The cinematography is well executed throughout the film with the exception of one scene obviously shot with blue screen. If you want a tour of Arizona, and a candid look at the complications of cheating on your spouse, don't miss this film. I'm a traditionalist, so it took a bit for me to settle into the language of the film. Love A La Carte isn't a great film, but it certainly isn't a bad film either. I gave it three stars.

I am a supporter of Indie Films and that is obvious to anyone who checks out my IMDb page. With this movie, Love A La Carte, which is a funny and entertaining film, it reminded me of an old show called Love American Style, only this installment is geared towards a more adult audience. The premise of the plot is believable, partly due to the actors and the theme. An interesting look at a problem that is as old as mankind and tackled here with a sense of flair and bountiful T&A which if nothing else will prove to make the watching experience worthwhile.

What matters to me, is this, was the film good? Well, it is entertaining and funny. Would I watch it again? Yeah, I would, while lighthearted, there is a story being told and there is a depth to the characters, especially the tough-guy biker and mechanic, played by James Ray. Ray nailed his role and makes the film work. Along with plenty of nice asstributes, sure, I'll watch it again.

Overall, It is important to support indie films, you got to give these guys a chance, we need an infusion of new talent and perspective and Tim McSpadden has done a good job here. So yeah, it's worth a viewing

Great comedy that delivers more than just laughs. I was particularly impressed with the scenery. The lighting and choice of shooting locations really added to the overall effect of the film, making it beautiful and easy to watch. The characters were well-developed and relatable, which is key to making this kind of relationship comedy work. It also felt topical with the connections to the immigration debate, cyber dating, etc. The mark of a good movie is when you lose yourself in it and start imagining yourself in the situations the characters were in. Overall a great movie to watch on a date or alone on any given night. I hope to see more from these filmmakers, and I would definitely watch again.

A very funny, and slightly bizarre take on infidelity. I really liked Aaron Ginn-Forsberg, he was a great find and has some throwback comedic chops. Recommend this, it's definitely worth your time!

What does it mean to tie your life and finances up with another person? What is the dynamic of give in take in a marriage versus with a lover who is with you only because the two of you chose to be together for the moment? How can the easy give and take of a collaborative marriage survive one member who betrays the familial trust by denying emotional support to a spouse, or from one who seeks missing compassion outside the marriage?

This movie seeks to address these deep questions facing anyone in a relationship. These issues are not answered in the movie Love A La Carte, no single solution is right for anyone. But it gives an inspirational view of a couple that successfully negotiates the deficiencies in their marriage and happily stay together. By learning and using tools of effective communications, we see the successful incorporation of a community of choice that enhances the marital foundation of this couple.

This film has an great original soundtrack and a fun perspective on life after children. The only drawback to the movie is constant product placement for the dating web site, LoveALaCarte.com, and the occasional jab at gun toting housewives, the King of England, or the crying religious icon of a political party. For any loving relationship to succeed is an ongoing process of maintenance and interpersonal growth, and this movie is a good tool for keep the spark of love alive.
