A Bit of Bad Luck

The greatness of this film is in the writing. If you enjoy dark comedies, than this film is for you. This movie is well acted with Cary Elwes and Teri Polo starring. Brooks (played by Cary Elwes) lives a life of luxury thanks to his uber rich wife Amanda (Teri Polo). Brooks has anything a man could desire but, it's not enough. Brooks weakness is that he likes to have affairs with other women. He has driven his wife to the point where she is crazy and decides to plot some major revenge. When her plan is carried out, all hell breaks loose. Suddenly, Brooks is caught up in a cat and mouse game for his very survival. The movie is a bit wordy but very intelligent like a Whit Stillman movie almost. I think it's fair to say that the movie is for a more sophisticated audience who can appreciate the black humor. I can't say enough about it. after initially renting the film, I went back and purchased it on Amazon so I could watch it again.

So those of you guys who are looking for a good time by watching a movie and have some beers while you are at it, please do not watch this one.I don't usually review movies but this one made me come out here and write it so that i could save a few good souls from committing one of the biggest mistakes of their lives. This movie is a MASSIVE waste of time and energy. Actings are cliché and the story is.... well i don't think there are any English word that can do justice to this. Even after my warning,if you still decide to watch, you will understand why i named my TITLE as NOTHING. Giving it a 2 is giving it too much credit.

Simply put this movie is hollow. There is nothing in the movie that i can praise about.Please DON'T INVEST TIME ON THIS.

Unfunny. Goofy. Dawdling. Gewgaw acting. No, I didn't like this dumb flick.

The plot rambles along from one implausible situation to another. Is it all a dream, yes, a nightmare! Is it all real, yes, bad luck for us all. Then the ending of the movie. It is suppose to be conclusive but it is just more of the same.

Not a comedy, not a drama, not a fantasy, not anything. Far from science fiction! The storyline read as great fun. Rich boy gone bad and a woman's revenge. A towns revenge. Everybody is in on the game! I'm sure the movie 'extras' got a good lunch for their efforts during the filming.

If you are a binge drinker and want to find a way to start or stop drinking; watch this flick!

Maybe 7 years ago this was considered good. But in these days. No way. Very confusing, bad acting, not convincing, not catchy and in no way attractive move. Bad. Very bad ughh

A Bit of Bad Luck is a dark comedy that takes you on a ride through a man's coming to an (not intentional) understanding of his selfish ways. I thoroughly enjoyed it and laughed out loud at several places. One of my favorite scenes was when the protagonist ends up in jail and the prisoner in the cell next to his has a complete bedroom set with a comfy bed, table lamp and bedside table. He has no lock on his cell door and has been there for two and a half years. Not only has he never had a trial, he wasn't even expecting one. No explanation needed. The lead character, Brooks, played by Cary Elwes was excellent. You felt his panic as he was being surrounded and hunted by a town of violent red necks with no escape. The music was fun and in a few places told the narrative. The cinematography was excellent. I am from the Pacific Northwest and I loved seeing familiar places. A funny horror movie filmed in broad daylight. I recommend this movie to adults who want a great movie with a healthy dose of dark humor.
