Incredible good acting, great photo and music. Love the vintage look and the raw athmosphere.
Skarsgard as priest and Lansman is great characters and love the lightning and surroundings in the pictures. Maybe the people are a little way to dirty? But what the hell do i know i didnt live in 1850.
Love it!

I logged in to imdb first time in quite a few years to shout my desperation.
Please, please quit showing people during day to day life (including going to church) wity dirty faces!!!!! People washed their faces even in the "dark" ages!
It is so annoying that I can hardly watch what seems to be a good show. Why, oh why oh why the director made that decision?

I watched this in Swedish with English subtitles as I cannot stand dubbing. It had lots to attract me - the period setting, the stunning scenery and the mysterious cultures of the indigenous people - plus an intriguing murder mystery.
Gustav Skarsgard was brilliant as the Pastor - more suited to a career as a detective and/or forensic scientist, such was his brilliance at investigating a series of killings in his parish. His benevolent mentoring of his adopted Sami son was really touching.
Some interesting characters who were all very well played - and kudos to the actor playing the travelling artist who was generally unnerving.
I loved the Nordic type background music as it added to the sense of remoteness and unease. I guess the Director wanted to add authenticity by having everyone look awful with what looked like dirty and sunburnt faces but it did look strange!
All in all this was the perfect series to watch on dark nights with the lights dimmed. Really enjoyed it.

How you can call this adaptation of the book Koka Björn "banal crap" is for me completely incomprehensible. The cast includes several of Sweden's best actors but also the lesser known and amateurs do a fantastic job.
The environments are genuine and I am at least as fascinated by the series as by the book which was a masterpiece.

Wife and I listened to the audiobook on a
car trip. Details were special involving forensics in Lapland in 1852 prior to DNA testing. Gustaf Skarsgård is a brilliant choice for lead, especially in Swedish rather than English dubbing. The 2021 book was an international best seller. Glad to see the movie.
