Unlicensed

I have to admit, I like watching movies about boxing. This this film is unique. I have never seen a boxing film - and certainly not a documentary - where you can feel the blood and sweat of the boxers, the ring, the hard work, the fights....like in this movie by James Esposito. In addition to the fact that you get to see many original types (which you can never see in normal boxing films about professional boxing), this film opens the view into a very interesting and lively subculture.

I went into this film not knowing a lot about boxing, let alone the "unlicensed" side of things. This film drew me in though, and it is a very interesting and intriguing watch. The promoters and boxers are very honest in their interviews, and you're right there in the action with the different types of boxing matches, including the quite funny "handbag matches". Some really powerful moments and well worth a watch, especially for a boxing fan.

A great documentary and enjoyed watching it. A detailed insight into this world, interesting characters and a fair bit of fight action.
