The content of this show is exceptional, matching the standards set by the best nature documentaries. The visuals are stunning, the colors vivid, and a lot of rare scenes captured with exceptional sharpness.

There's some footage shot with the camera apparently attached to the marine wildlife itself, which is an interesting and uncommon technique for mainstream documentaries.

The biggest letdown is the voice narration. This is the first documentary narrated by Barack Obama that I've watched, and I was not impressed. As a public orator giving political speeches, he's obviously very effective and inspirational. But his delivery of this show's narration felt dispassionate. It fails to convey the wonder & magic of the content, and makes the overall experience quite flat.

From the unparalleled footage, to the fun and entertaining voiceover from Barack, from the urgent message he conveys to all of us, to the marvellous score, every single element from this docu series is simply fantastic! The revolutionary recording techniques and the exclusive and first ever filmed scenes make it even more precious.

Kudos to Michelle and Barack for producing such a masterpiece. I've never seen such an enchanting and at the same time gripping and urgent docu series about nature before.

I watched it all in one sit, just couldn't and wouldn't even take a break.

Not only should everybody watch it, everybody should live up to the message we're given. It's the eleventh hour....

I love nature documentaries and was so looking forward to this series. Although the imagery is stunning, the narration was so painful and hard to get through. Obama constantly pauses and his cadence is just so slow and even sometimes sounds "goofy" for a lack of a better word. I would have given anything for Attenborough or Freeman to have narrated. In fact, in order for me to make it tolerable, I changed the audio to a Spanish speaking narrator with English subtitles and continued the series. Much better this way.

Other than that, the footage is fantastic and wonderfully educational which I really appreciate.

I do not agree with the criticism that Obama's narration is boring. I loved his narration. The knowledge of the production is amazing and the photography is astounding. In addition I truly enjoyed the music. I would highly recommend this series. My only criticism is the anthropomorphic references.

My daughter and I watched this together and looked up some oceanic details while watching. We only watched one or two at a time but still an enjoyable series.

I do not have a lot more to say except that I did learn a lot and appreciate our oceans and the amazing creatures who live there even more so than before.

I'm gonna echo what others have said here and Barack Obama's narration is not that great. Lots of pauses, and to choose an American president to talk about preservation does not sit well with me. I don't remember him doing something particularly revolutionary for the environment while he was in charge. I actually study French so I watched it dubbed and the narrator was pretty good.

Episode four was incredibly sad. They spent more time talking about global warming than the animals. I'm very concerned about global warming, but I don't hold the means of production. Not much I can do here other than being sad. I miss when these kind of shows were a relaxing watch.

Finally, some shots seem to be CGi. When did this become a thing in nature documentaries?
