Cake Week

Refreshingly the same as its always been, 'The Great British Bake Off' returned to Channel 4, once again sadly at a time when we needed it as a boost in troubled times.

And as I said, there's nothing new here- it's the same old format back for another outing.

There's something almost comforting about that in the sense that much like 'Strictly' over on the BBC it's more about seeing new faces go through the journey we've seen others undertake prior. We look and see their highs and lows with interest having seen it all before.

Long may it reign, it brings a lot of joy to a lot of people, and that's no bad thing.
