Starship Troopers: Invasion

There are lots of next future star of screen writing or something. Some of them can write a story. Some just know the screen writing conventions, like where to put the captions. This is the product of such a creative writer that knows the standard, but would be better qualified to do something else, like washing cars or be a janitor at a school. I mean, come on! Stellar transportation, cute tin costumes and all they have are glorified machine guns with larger magazines than the ones from World War I??? And the bugs are good enough to come from their Solar System and their strategy is something worthy of a peasant upgraded to NKVD officer? All ahead! And the direction slash production team is execrable. Equality, but it's all about the breasts. Boys have a crew cut. Probably because it is easy to maintain. But girls are all in full make up and cute hair cuts. They might not come back from the next mission, but at least they smell nice, right? Even the costumes, beneath the armor, are worthy of a sex slave and not a military. But who cares? The audience doesn't seem to know any better.

If you enjoyed the first movie or the book, then this won't be terrible. Too each his own and all that, but I found it to be quite amusing. I was a fan of the book, the first movie was amusing even if it didn't follow the book too closely. With the limited graphics in the late 90s, the powered armor would not have looked good at all. The graphics are decent, the action sequences are well done. The movie seems rushed in some parts, the plot was nothing terribly complex, but it's a classic alien/bug hunt; people die in a variety of noble/self-sacrificial ways, as befits a cap trooper, bugs are killed and there's lots of explosions. Better than the previous three, but the bar was never set very high.

the original Starship trooper though never achieve legendary status like Aliens or Predator, still a very good enjoyable movie.

And if you like the original, You will definitely enjoy this one too. Though the Invasion is Animation, the style is photo realistic like FF the spirit within, Resident evil degeneration and so on.

But despise being Animation, Its have nice suspense, and action. and like the original have lots Blood and gore. The Equipment and Ships were rendered very good. even better models compare to originals.

The Troopers suit, seems try to joining the original movie to the novel one. which Mechanized Troopers rather than Regular Rifleman like the one we saw on Original movie. Thumbs up for the well animated and models of the Power suit used by the troopers.

However, The camera angle and Music can not match the quality of the special effect, and animation. There are few shoots that not quite good, and the camera angle is no special - despite being animated movie. camera shoots can be more dynamic. The music, well.... just mediocre. its not good enough to Follow the movie pace, rather FLAT. sound effect also sub par though its good enoughs on several occasion .

In the end, its an enjoyable movie like predecessor (sorry ST2 and ST3 you both not counted as enjoyable). And Im looking forward for possible sequel.

Not stellar, but pretty good. Had all the regulars Carmen, johnny Rico and Carl the esp guy. Some good crazy action however a bit heavy on drama that didn't really work for me. Decent enough story and faithful to the original. A little overboard with the nudity, but hey. i like boobs as much as the next guy. Worth a rental for sure. Some effects and graphics worked really well at times, sometimes not so much. The bug animations were kinda stiff while the texture work was really good on the faces and "ahem" skin. You can tell which scenes they spent time polishing. By far much better then Starship Troopers 2 or 3. My only real complaint is that the story itself felt kinda rushed and didn't really have any nuance. It was a good story and some of the time I felt was wasted on things that were not needed at the cost of fleshing out the premise of the movie. Just my 2 cents.

I am a massive fan of the first real action movie so I can't help myself from grabbing these titles when ever I see them.

The CGI is fairly good, not up to some of the other CGI feature length titles that have come before it, but totally watchable.

I didn't really enjoy this movie but to write a fair review I think you have to consider its target audience. This is a space action romp. There is no onion to peel here; no layers of story where the viewer obtains a deeper understanding of the human condition.

This is about aliens, explosions, space ships, leather cat-suit cladded action models and cartoon boobies. In that respect it does its job perfectly!

The dialogue is cheesy, the characters are so full of testosterone each is a whisper away from throwing themselves on a grenade for the Republic (and lots of them do)but that is part of the fun.

If you can take this at face value you will have a great evening. If you want something with depth or serious storyline then best keep walking.
