When I first discovered WatchMojo, I enjoyed their top 10 lists. However, about a year or so ago, I began to loose interest, along with the top 10 list format as a whole. I began to find them boring and repetitive. Everynow and then I may go back and watch and older list, but not the newer stuff. The multiple videos a day are too much. The video themselves do not hold my attention. And their content is repetitive, often repeating itself in some form. And if anyone is curious, there rankings do not factor into my decisions as I know that everyone has different opinions, though it would be nice if they treated their top 10 lists as opinion rather than fact. They are ranking a subjective experience not a list of statistics.
This "show" is just awful, it has completely ran out of ideas. The worst part about the "show" is basically the only part, the lists are just wrong, they pretend that they are some kind of hardcore movie and video game critics and they pretend to rate there lists on some kind of "scientific" basis as if they rate all of the things on the list on certain criteria, but they don't, there lists are just simply wrong, the rankings are barely an opinion because any remotely intelligent persons opinion would be better that theirs, if you are looking to see a "professional" comparison on a stupid category then look elsewhere. 1/10 (I gave it a 1 only because it wouldn't let me give it a 0).
This is probably one of the worst YouTube channels to come out of Youtube as a whole.
To start off with, this channel is so empty, faceless, and boring as beige. At least with other countdown channels, they actually have personality, and someone you could maybe relate to. These guys make about 5 videos a day just so they can take advantage of the YouTube partnership program. YouTube used to be a place for hobbies, now it's for weasel jokes like Buzzfeed & Watch Mojo to make millions of dollars a year. (More on Buzzfeed another time) Another reason for why I hate them is that they try to pretend that they know everything. They think that Teen Titans Go was an honorable mention in their "Top ten cartoons of the 2010s" video. This is another example of Watch mojo putting in whatever's popular onto their lists. TTG is the most overplayed show on CN right now so it would make sense for them to cash in on this pathetic excuse for a show, but if they had done their research right then they would know how bad that show is. So yes Watchmojo pretends to be "hardcore" on every subject, but fails miserably.
I know they themselves like to poke fun at the whole "running out of ideas" gag with the t-shirts that say just that. But being self aware isn't going to do you any good. That's like saying I smell like hoarse hooves so I'm going to go make a coffee mug that says "I smell like hoarse hooves".
Plus they upload five videos every day so it's very hard for smaller channels that make better quality videos to compete with YouTube's horrible algorithm.
I can't believe people actually subscribed to them. There are better top ten list channels that post actually acceptable lists that have reasoning, and they have someone that you can relate to. If you're interested in some good top ten cartoon videos, then check out RebelTaxi. If you're interested in Nintendo top tens then check out Nathaniel Bandy. I also hate how Watchmojo gets all of this money even though there are military soldiers who sacrifice their life yet they don't even get paid as much as Watch mojo. And I would ignore Watchmojo but they are literally all over YouTube because they make top ten lists about EVERYTHING. Such as "Top ten Snow movies". "Top ten Colorations of liquid that watch Mojo squirts out of their ears every year". The list goes on and on and on. I sure hope their "YouTube channel" (if you can even call it that) dies due to the fact that these scumbags abuse the YouTube algorithm.
In fact, I hope they make a "Top ten IMDb hate reviews of Watchmojo" video, just so they can put this at number one.
And that my readers is why watch mojo is possibly one of the worst Youtube channels of all time. (Tied with Buzzfeed)

They make bad lists as well as good ones.
I watch new videos in my spare time.
I watch new videos in my spare time.
I'm not actually going to write ten reasons, but let's start with at least one. That should be enough.
The listicle format of so many articles and videos on the internet is a dreadful trend that repurposes other more meaningful content for clicks and views. WatchMojo aren't the only entity guilty of this - BuzzFeed's entire existence is largely built on it - but they are easily one of the most prolific examples of such non-writing on YouTube.
I watched a handful of their videos out of curiosity a while ago. It quickly became a regrettable experience as their work - even from an editorial standpoint - is bland and unimaginative, with zero sense of any distinct voice or passion. Even their narration sounds suspiciously like someone reading the opinions espoused in other listicles scattered over the internet, delivered in a tone that lacks personality and may well be computer-generated.
Worse yet, the sheer volume of videos they produce means they inevitably show up in recommendations in place of other material that might have been produced with a modicum of effort. It's content farming at its most cynically lazy, obviously geared to exploit the algorithms behind YouTube's search and recommendation systems.
If I didn't have to be constantly reminded of the company's existence via the right-hand side of the YouTube page, I would eventually (and thankfully) never think about the company again. As they keep announcing their existence whenever I'm looking for something else, they draw enough ire for me to write about it.
